Made up premise not a fair representation of views
Hi,It's a good read from a Christian professor of maths. I found his mouthing of what he was arguing against not quite fair at the best. Re: The premise on pages 9 and 10.At the worst its a straw man.We all know science is incomplete in understanding on many fronts, but Christian religions do not have a full grasp on Christian truth as spoken by Jesus or by Jesus as the LogosI find as a Christian, who is interested in science I know less now than I did when I was young, but I am also grateful to the Science that enabled me to have a covid vaccine and used Einstein's formula to treat my stage 3 cancer with high energy Xrays in a linac. Why do men try to turn everything into black and white issues?I think studying science and alleviating suffering is innate in humans, perhaps I should say God given but atheists would object! ;)

Lucid, well presented and compelling
I've read a number of books on Apologetics ranging from the academic to the more general (For example and off the cuff - Alvin Plantinga, John Haldane, William Lane Craig, Ravi Zacharias, RC Sproul, Francis Collins, Tim Keller, Nabeel Qureshi, Greg Koukl and John Blanchard spring to mind). I have also watched numerous debates online and attended presentations, lectures and debates. It was at his presentation in the Town Hall in Oxford I 2019 that I purchased several copies of this, his most recent book. What John Lennox brings to the table is clarity and common sense. Written in plain english, this book is entertaining, humorous, but nevertheless persuasive. It's an excellent book for those finding their way through this discipline, whilst serving as a useful aide memoire for the more experienced.

Punchy and to the point. Highly recommended.
This small book packs a powerful punch and can easily be digested in a single sitting. Ideal for the time poor and interest rich. It's only 125 small pages but covers a lot of ground - and in a short space offers a convincing takedown of those whose starting point is incompatibility of science and religion.Lennox keeps it comprehensible and to the point. For my money the best thing about this book is that it gives a fair summary of the arguments against which Lennox is arguing. That sounds like rule 101 for this kind of thing, but it isn't.If you are looking for a clear and concise overview of the God/religion/science question, and in particular the deep role of faith in science as a sine qua non, this is a great place to start.Highly recommended.

An inspiring read.
John Lennox is no doubt a great man, and his insight into how Christianity and science mix very well is refreshingly inspiring.
