Mothers 07241 California Gold Clay Kit

Amazing starter kit! Clay bars work well and the spray it comes with pair well together. Clay bars glide smoothly and is able to clean up my paint. I paired it with Hybrid Solutions Polish and Wax and 2 coatings of Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating.If you are gonna polish and buff your car or do any kind of paint correction, you need to clay bar your car. And this is a good kit to start with! I just wish the spray bottle was bigger. I used alot of it lol.

If you don't want to spent $200 ++ dollars to get all the sap and gunk of your car, then this is your best option. I was a little nervous if I just wasted ~$30 that could have gone towards the service. The youtube videos explained the how to well enough that I (female) knocked out my Mazda CX5 in 3 hours including a post polish after the clay bar. Car looked and felt great. You really feel the difference running your hands over the lacquer afterwards. Packaging came with 3 bars, which will last several more usage. I recommend.

I was skeptical of this product, especially after my neighbor, a car fanatic, warned me never to use it. But after extensive research I learned that this seemed to be the stuff that everyone who was serious about maintaining their car's finish raved about, so I decided to give it a shot. I'm really glad I did because after using it, my car's finish looks like it did on the showroom floor. (I later found out my neighbor used it incorrectly - without the spray lubricant).My three primary concerns were: 1) it would damage or abrade the finish, 2) it would peel up the paint, and 3) it would be difficult and a pain to use. Not only did this product not harm my car's finish in any way, but it REALLY WORKED! And best of all, it required minimal effort - it's much easier than taking off paste wax. After a few passes with the rubbing spray and the clay bar (you use them together) all the contaminants on the surface were gone. You could literally see old, stubborn road tar and tree sap flecks - blackened from years of sunlight - disappearing with each swipe. You want your car's paint to feel as smooth as the windshield - this product is how you get that.Just follow the directions. Use the spray that comes with it. Plain water doesn't cut it. Also, don't be afraid to use a little elbow grease to get some of the more stubborn containments up; as my confidence grew using the product, I realized I could use moderate pressure to work on the most heavily soiled areas and the bar did not harm the surface in any way. And while the package says it's good for several uses, I'd consider each bar a single-use item. It comes with two bars, and after the first one I'd say I used about half the spray anyway. But this is not something you'll need to do but maybe once a year (unless you consistently park under trees), so I don't consider getting two applications out of a single product purchase too shabby.One final caveat: you should wax your car immediately after using this. I used regular old Turtle Wax T-223 Super Hard Shell Paste Wax - 9.5 oz. and then followed it up with a coat of Turtle Wax T-465 ICE Paste Polish - 8 oz.. These products together worked beautifully.Overall, a great product. It does what it says it does and it's easy to use. Can't ask for more than that!

Mothers makes dependable well priced products. This kit worked decently but it left things lacking. I have a black 2006 Volvo S60R. It has been babied this past year (I've owned it for a month now), but in full sun and up close, you can tell it's almost 12 years old. I did things a bit backwards and waxed it the moment I got it (CarGuys liquid wax), and it shines like hell but the finish was still a bit rough and the amount of metallic in the black sapphire paint actually accentuates instead of hides swirls, scratches, etc.This kit will likely only last you a single venture. The clay bars are very small. The spray bottle pretty much ran out right at the end. To be fair I was working in a do-it-yourself car wash so I could wash before and after and the wind was howling non-stop so that likely 50% of the spray didn't get to lay on the car anyway. But regardless, I wouldn't count on getting two goes from one bottle much less these two tiny bars. The kit was easy to use and comes with an absorbant wiping cloth as well. My only beef with the cloth is the huge Mother's branded tag on it.I will say this made a noticeable difference in the slick/smoothness of the pain but I can still feel some imperfections, I likely needed to start out with a higher grade and work down to finer versions. Still, the beading and gleam after just clay barring and pre-second wash was impressive. It did catch on some of the rougher plastic body kit panels and where there's a deep scratch on one trim panel, but it cleaned up easily.The finish I got after re-waxing after using this kit was noticeably improved, scratches etc still visible but the finish was such a smooth glossy sheen even in cloudy/overcast/darkening light.Considering I find it even harder to take my eyes off my car, I'd say this product is worth it. I'm not 100% satisfied with either Mothers or Meguire's but until I find a kit with a bigger volume of cleaner and larger bars for a similar price, I'll keep buying this twice a year.

After reading the reviews and also using this product before I ordered it again. It comes with spray liquid and 2 bars . Instructions are inside and if your not sure on use just view it on YouTube. It will take away grime etc. in the paint finnish . The bars are gold colored and you use just a small piece an glide it on your car in sections along with spray liquid. After your finnished car is amazing looking an shiny and smooth to touch. You need to follow up right after with a good auto wax of your choice to seal the work of this product. It will last a good few months time depending how you store your auto either garaged / covered or outside. I would reccomend buying , using this product again . No scratching , easy to use , good name product can be used proffesionally or homeowner too.

It smells very nice. Wish the bottle was a bit bigger. I barely had enough to do the job. And I have a small 3 door hot hatch. Makes the surface very slippery, perfect to make the clay bar glide like a champ. Get rid of all the grit and nasties. It gives that sexy glassy look. Wipe it down afterward and it's ready for the wax. Do only one small section at a time and don't let it dry, otherwise, you will have to wipe a bit harder to remove the dried film. When the rag get soaked (when your half done), it's best to take a pause, let it air dry and finish the job with a dried cloth. Or use a fresh one. But the one provided is high quality. You can use car soap and water in high concentration in order to do the job, but the lubricant works flawlessly. Did I say that it smells nice? I do this once a year and I always get compliment for how good my car look, despite its age.

Bin schwer begeistert, unser weißes Auto zieht Fliegenkot, Teer und Flugrost an wie ein Magnet. Hab sämtliche Hausmittel und Chemiekeulen versucht, alles Zeitverschwendung. Die Knete ist sehr ergiebig. Ich hab das ganze Aut 'abgeknetet' so sah es noch nie aus. Es funktioniert sensationell! Fliegenkot, Flugrost und co sind kein Problem.Absolute Kaufempfehlung
