Reveal Math Course 1, Interactive Student Edition, Volume 1 (MATH APPLIC & CONN CRSE)

I love this math book. It helps my fifth grader a lot, and it teaches her more about sixth grade math.

I am a 5th grade teacher who is teaching this curriculum to 40 6th graders, and it is awful! (We had a staff member resign right before school started, and I volunteered to teach my students from last year.) Students are asked, "How can you approach the task? What is your solution?" instead of, "Show how to solve the problem," as if in math there are multiple options for a correct answer. In the first lesson of the year, students were asked to "Justify your response," which made them all feel like they needed to write an essay. Students had a difficult time figuring out what the wordy problems were even asking. I am now left with creating "Help Sheets" for each lesson. Students are given tons of examples to read, without having to do any of the work in the examples. For some problems, the teacher's manual says, "See students work" and doesn't give suggestions for how to solve the problem. Now I have to sit and figure it all out myself before I teach the class. This was obviously not created by teachers.

I bought this to help my 6th grade daughter who was assigned this book. After reading reviews I was afraid the book would be confusing and pushing a progressive agenda. The book is not written well, however it is manageable. I didn't see any questions that had a political bias. Overall, the book is fine, but I do question the school districts choice over other options with better setup and layout.

This is the worst way to teach math, my son is very confused and the math book doesn't show examples of what they want. 6th grade math should involve regular math not just wierd story problems, that promote critical race theory!!

This is an incredibly stupid book. I am working with my son, forget about teaching him anything, he would confuse with everything he learned.
