I was looking for LED lights for my aquarium that isn’t expensive and doesn’t put out blue colors because it promotes algae growth. Also it needed to be bright enough to penetrate through 20” depth. All the ones built for aquariums can only go about 12” deep to grow plants effectively.I found these light set and it was WAAAY beyond my expectations! First impressions was the build quality - the LED are encased in some kind of clear silicon which makes it water proof PLUS each LED chip has a magnifying dome lens over it. Secondly they are blindingly bright. I made a mistake of looking right at it when I first turned it on to test.I attached the lights to the aquarium lid that I made and opted to not use the timer because I have a smart plug already and want the lights to turn on when the smart plug timer turns on. (I read a review that the timer it came with doesn’t remember the previous on/off setting.)Lastly it doesn’t give off much heat so it won’t melt the plastic aquarium lid. Good job for building such excellent quality lights! I think I’ll buy another set to use for indoor plants.

Installed into my 2' mini grow tent. Very happy with the results. Plants are super happy and absolutely thriving. Temp stays warm but not hot even when running 18hrs a day. Bought the under cabinets for the kitchen and was so happy that figured I'd give these a try. Connections are screw in to prevent water intrusion and timer is great addition that keeps my surge protector uncramped with timers. Bought both white (for herbs and clones) and full spectrum (for my flower tent) and very happy with both. These won't replace a full LED light, but for herbs and clones, and supplemental flowering lights (using on poles) they work wonderfully.

These lights check all the boxes for what I'm looking for in under-shelf grow lights:• directs the light downwards (not in a 180° arc)• very attractive cold white ~7000k spectrum (not yellow or pink) with decent light output• screw mounted (adhesive tape provided but not required)• those awful 6/9/12 timers are provided but are NOT required (unlike so many other models that have them hardwired in-line)This light can be hooked directly to a mechanical timerI am extremely pleased with these lights!

I bought the lights and shelf 3 months ago to help my plants survive the winter. Setup was super easy and it looks really nice. I was disappointed by the results as my plants kept dying. I ended up moving many of the plants to the window where the did better than the greenhouse. When I used a sensor to test the strength of the LED light, it barely registered. The light is simply not strong enough for most of the plants to stay alive. Side note, if you buy the shelves and the light, be careful leaving it closed for long periods of time. The heat from the lights build up and can harm the plants. I learned this from going on a trip and coming back to some overheated plants.

I bought these lights for a vivarium, to make sure the plants do well. The thing is, with a vivarium you also have to have space for heat lamps and so forth so setting up grow lights can be difficult. Because these are short and can be arranged any way you like, they worked perfectly. The only reason I rated them 4 stars vs 5 was because one section overheated at some point, melting the plastic edge of the top of the vivarium. I don't know what caused it and it hasn't happened again.

We installed thise in our tiny greenhouse. They timer worked perfectly. We opted for the white lights and they light up the whole back yard. So far a very good product.

Lights installed in about 6 minutes into a 5 shelf “Martha Tent” greenhouse using the included zip ties. Using them for growing mushrooms to initiate pinning and fruiting. I only ended up using 3 of the 4 included light bars which seems to work just fine. The connections screw together and appear to be watertight. Except the connectors on the dimmer/timer. So in my case I had to mount the timer outside the tent since inside the tent is over 95% relative humidity. I use them at 100% brightness with the timer set to 12hrs on and 12hrs off. Would recommend highly for mushroom growing.

I personally found these to be not bright enough. They were easy to install but thats about it.
