Worked like a charm, pay attention to the season before you seed
I'm planting this in May in GA which is well past when I should be for this grass seed but I have had good success with the first seeding sprouting and continuing to grow. In deep shade, no less! Also, in areas that get a little sun during the day but not much. The ground has been moist without me having to do much the first few days (not ideal for seed but it was not in a place where it was going to runoff). I still have some of this left and will do a second spread of it soon. If what has sprouted just as of now continues to thrive, I will buy more for the fall. Honestly I don't know why anyone would have issues with this seed. I did nothing to prepare the ground, which was sandy, deeply shady, bare areas.

Buy this!!! Highly recommend!
I don’t understand how this seed isn’t more highly rated. I have tried for years to grow grass in my back patio area, which does not get much sun. The ground is hard, shaded, a bit rocky, etc. I have such low faith in the ability of this ground to grow grass that I didn’t even loosen the soil For the seed. I just threw it out on top of the ground and then watered it. It didn’t even sink into the ground because the ground is so hard! I was amazed to see the grass growing on top of the ground and then into the ground! And it is sprouting so much grass! I just bought another bag of it to do a better job laying it because this stuff is amazing! I have tried for years and nothing else has worked!

Seems to work, not sure long term.
Used in shade spot in yard. Had grass in about 7 days . Waiting to see long term if it's going to last? Live in central Fla. Keep well watered until comes up. It is not thick grass but better than dirt/ sand. Walmart also sells also here in Florida.

Grows where no grass would grow before!
We have a beautiful couple of trees out front that have slowly snuffed out our lovely St. Augustine due to their shadey ways. We spent an entire Saturday tilling, adding soil and laying sod only for it to slowly die out (watering regularly). We thought it was a parasite or bad soil but we didn't have the heart to spend another $1500 having more sod installed. We noticed our neighbor down the street has similar shade coverage and their yard is incredibly thick and green. So i asked them what they used....it was this stuff. So we tilled up the yard, watered liberally, added the seed and watered a bit more...It's been about 10 days and we are seeing some awesome growth! You can see in the photos how much bald dirt there is, so you can imagine how bad it was before! We are excited about this first growth and it's getting denser every day!

VERY SLOW TO SPROUT
VERY SLOW GROWING! I didn’t think a blade was gonna come up until over three weeks later when they’re now finally starting to poke through

Almost Non-Existant Germination!!!
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!! I've sown a LOT of seed as a professional landscaper and this seed germination rate is the poorest I've ever experienced. It was sown next to a new lawn the same day but used as there were some Cedar trees that partially shaded the area. Still, there was plenty of sunlight to made grass seed "pop'. The other lawn is thick and lush. You might see 10% of the Pennington's weak little sprouts. Both seeds were treated with the same care, so it wasn't poor planting procedure on my end.

Good Seed, but do it right.
Good Grass seed. Good for more shadier areas (at least in N. Texas).Be careful not to store this in your 'hot' TX garage -- that will likely kill off the seeds.Plant and prepare the ground properly, dont just throw on the ground and expect a miracle.Speed: I had green sprouts after less than a week, and I'll say I was fully grown in after about a month (i.e. first mow). Succeeding months the density of the grass has increased. Recommended.

10/10 grass seed!!
Absolutely amazing! My backyard was completely dead grass & 90% dirt for 5 years. I made sure to use a garden hoe, then blocked it off with chicken wire so my dogs wouldnt walk on it & laid hay ontop & watered it every other day or so. Now doing the other side of the yard!! The grass is thick and so green. Absolutely will be using this again.
