Reveal: Robbie Williams

I do not understand why people are bashing this book! IF you are a Robbie Williams fan you will love it. It is like being in the room talking to Robbie about his most intimate thoughts and stories. Yes, the book does bounce back and forth in time, but isn't that how you recollect and tell stories anyway? Everything you would want to know is answered in this book, from his days starting out in "Take That", to the creative process of writing and collaborating on songs, to his insecurities and highs and lows. I wish the book was twice as long because it is so informative and entertaining.

Really enjoyed 'getting to know' Robbie Williams. Loved his sense of humour, his love for his children, his desire to be kind that kept getting thwarted by his personality, his responses to unkindness from others, the industry he worked in, and taking the 'p--s' out of others that more often than not backfired on him. What was horrifying was the large level of nasty social media comments that were very hurtful and unkind. How does one manage that, especially when one lives on such a public platform?What I struggled with was either the editing or the forum in which the book was written, not sure which. It seemed to lack cohesion or flow. Otherwise enjoyable read.

I’m a big Robbie fan. I enjoyed the book and love his openness. I did find it a bit long and preferred the 2nd half of the book.

I admit that I am fortunate to have been exposed to some of the music of Robbie Williams in the early 2000s via my now sweet husband (we met back in August 2002). I understand that obviously there are going to also be readers who have most likely purchased andor known of his music since the 90s. I admit that I was exposed to his Millenium song in high school (around the time I was 18 years old) however, I heard more of Robbie Williams music after I was stationed in Yokosuka Japan in the early 2000s(I was in my early 20s). However, It was also an easy decision for me to order this kindlebook of Reveal by Robbie Williams because of the fact that one of my purchases involving just his music was originally on October 26 2010 with his In & Out Consciousness; Greatest Hits (multiple good songs with my fave being Radio that I first heard around 2008). Anyhow, this Reveal kindlebook by Robbie Williams includes details on what he was thinking around June 2016 around five months before release a music collection that year, some September 2016 references to some of the music that his daughter is listening to while eating some waffles and raspberries (LL Cool J, Kriss Kross etc.), promoting his Heavy Entertainment Show music collection, a reference to a touring production of Guys and Dolls, a mention of Robbie Williams daughter Teddy wearing a princess dress she got for Christmas, Beatlemania reference, a mention of a pop writer for the Sun Newspaper named Victoria Newton,a glimpse into his life when he was around 17 to 19 years old, mention of Neil Diamond, a connection to Amelia Free and musician Sam Smith that pertains to some diet, coverage of Robbie Williams pertaining to Hello magazine coverage and references to his history with the mainstream media, references pertaining to Robbie Williams wife actress Ayda Field and musician Noel Gallagher, and more.

I had trouble putting this book down. It was such a fun, honest and insightful read into one of the biggest pop stars on the planet! Seriously, some great stories and quick witted one-liners.. Even if you're not a fan of Robbie Williams, this is truly a great book...

You really get a sense of who Robbie is and what makes him tick. The caveats of fame are well laid out, and it is a wonder he, or anyone else can make heads or tails of a life like that. He seems to have made it out the other side so I say more power to him.

It was a funny look into the way his mind works. The book was also confusing with it's jumping around in time...which didn't seem necessary...but I enjoyed It!
