Fantastic Mic For Untreated Room
The mic itself is great, I needed something mainly for spoken voice and minor sampling use of various things and I'm not let down. I think at the discounted price it sits at currently (<280 USD) it's probably the best you can get. Noise isolation and clarity, even in an untreated room, are fantastic.I use it for day to day things in addition to recording so a lot of it's use is in meetings. I have to run a standalone A/C unit in my office due to the devices in here generating excess heat and it doesn't pick it up at all in addition to folks at home talking in the background which also get completely cut out for people on the other side of the conversation. The only complaints I really have is that since they're new Beyerdynamic hasn't released much for official accessories and the pop filter that comes with it is a little weird to get in front of the mic properly on the standard Rode are most use. The only thing is while the shock mount does a good job of not picking up bumps, I did have it pop out and got to learn all about restringing it so a better locking of the shock mount bands would be good but nothing too major. I think for what most people looking at this type of mic want it'll do a great job

A STEAL AT 150
This was offered for 350 when released about two years ago, and was a solid product at that price point. Both Amazon and Beyerdynamic directly are now pricing this at 150, which I imagine speaks to the heavy competition at that price level, and a failure in marketing. That said, this presents a great opportunity for budget seekers looking for a great recording mic. For VO, I've replaced my trusty NT1 with the Beyer, which I find very similar, with some added smoothness and premium sound.

It does not work. Don't buy this!
I have over 20 years of experience in audio and have been an Amazon customer for more than 10 years. I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of products, but for the first time, I received one that doesn't work, and neither Amazon nor the manufacturer is providing a solution. I simply took it out of the packaging, plugged it in, and it didn't work at all. I have other microphones, some of which are more than 10 years old, and they work perfectly. DO NOT buy this product because if it comes damaged, they will not help you AT ALL!

Poor Quality
Mic good but the quality of the shock arm is garbage, I'm embarrassed that Bayer even considered this sales worthy

Very bright. May be a good starter mic.
This mic is very bright on my voice. Compared to my other mics, this microphone seemed to drop the lower resonance from my voice. It was, however, very clear without much self-noise with a solid build. It's not right for my voice, but for the price it might make a good starter mic for a new voice or recording artist.Tested on both an Apollo Twin and a Scarlett 18i8.
