Q: How do you install them?

You can basically just pull off the OEM lock pins and push these on. The stock ones will come off easier if you twist them back and forth lightly. Takes more force than you think. Its easiest if you unlock the doors, and lightly push the aftermarket on. Once they've started to go on, you can lock the door and push down to make them flush with the sills

Sadly I used it on e36 body style of bmw

I purchased this for a 2008 e60 5-series and it’s perfect. Even if you never see the carbon shaft of the cover, it’s a nice upgrade because of the polished chrome tip, which is evident even with the doors locked.
