It works
I bought this to use with a TS100 soldering iron. When switching soldering tips, I feel no heat and my fingerprints are still intact. I'd say that's a win.

Silicone tip replacement pad
Lost my original, this one seems nearly identical. The texture might be slightly different than OEM but it allows me to replace the tips on my Metcal while they are still hot without any issue.
