I`m not a big fan of putty rubbers as they can be a bit variable in quality; the idea with them is to lift out (rather than erase) areas of tone – they are especially useful when using charcoal or for picking out highlights in other media; they should be softened using the heat of one`s hands and they can be shaped for precise work.What one should be careful of is not to store them with plastic rubbers as some makes can have a chemical reaction and they can melt and stick together in an unpleasant gunk.This pack of 8 rubbers is okay as far as I can tell; they will have a fairly limited lifespan if one uses them a lot – and they will eventually get too dirty and lose their stickiness as all putty rubbers do.For the asking price these are fine; if one is heavy into charcoal drawing they are an essential; I find I use them sparingly as my preferences are for the plastic rubbers, but these are not bad for quality and price.

Good item does exactly what it is supposed to do

These are large putty rubbers. Most of those that I have had in the past from well known artist suppliers have been about half the size. You also get 8 of them and they are excellent value for money. In the Amazon description they emphasize that they are not sticky. They are not very sticky but they are a bit sticky. The one that I am using at the minute is a bit tacky and gives some resistance when I pick it up off the table. This is not the end of the world but they drew my attention to the claim about stickiness and I am afraid that I disagree with them.

Good for lifting pencil lines to fade them before applying watercolour paint. Easy to manipulate and work with .

These are excellent value. Pretty simple things really, but they work well to pick up graphite and knead and shape well, which is all you need really. The fact you get eight in a box, all individually wrapped, makes these a really good price and great if you want to buy once and have enough in your art box to last years, or if you need to buy materials for a class of people or something. I have only tested them with pencils, but they were perfect for that and I can't see why they would perform worse with other materials, so I think these are great. I want to support my local art shop but when they are charging three quid for one of these they do make it hard sometimes. I don't see a difference with these and any others I've ever used. All good!

You get eight kneadable putty erasers in a small cardboard box (which is suitable for gifting). Each eraser is individually sealed and a reasonable size.I have never used a kneadable putty eraser before but have to say they are really useful, especially if doing a pencil or charcoal drawing and you need to remove a small mark as you can knead the eraser into a point to erase the mark. Equally if you want to remove a large area of work then you use it as is (block).Priced at £8.99 at the time of this Amazon Vine review, this makes each kneadable putty eraser just over £1.10 each. To my mind, this is a good price but then I've never bought them before so it might not be. I am pleased with this product and am happy to recommend (but I am not an professional artist so this is just a layperson's opinion).
