a month ago, i asked this question:"Dear Celestron, can you make the center pin universal? this would be perfect for my S50?"the response i got from Celestron:"The tabletop tripod is designed specifically for the Celestron Nexstar and Evolution telescope series. It would be impractical to change the mounting design and thus have "current" and "former" versions of the telescope mount interface."there's no need to change the mounting design and have a "current" or "former" version. all you need to do is make an adapter to fit the 3/8" fittings. the current pin on the tripod is 5/8".EQ mode will be added to S50 soon. this tripod would be perfect for it.

Make sure you sit it on a table at least 22 inch in diameter.
Love this mount... I can take it to the park and set up on picnic table. The legs have adjusting screws on the and work very well. Very light as well.

Works perfectly for Celestron 9.25” Evo SCT
Got this so I didn’t have to lug out my field tripod if I just wanted to go relax out on the deck and look for planets, aliens and nebula. Really sturdy for even for this 9.25”. I’m quite happy here…
