Fascinating reading for anyone working in a multi-national company
Based on interesting research, this book helps anyone managing a multi-cultural team or dealing with customers and suppliers around the world to gain a sense of the norms of each country and behave accordingly. I wish I'd read it years ago.

Great book!
Very helpful and applicable content. Helps understand things and behaviours barely noticed in everyday interactions. Even our own ones. Recommended to multicultural groups and teams.

Essential book for anyone who deals with people
A friend actually had this book and after browsing through I had to buy one for myself. I’ve never read it cover to cover, I use it as a reference when I’m dealing with different people at work. I am from New Zealand and it took me several years to realise the subtle cultural differences between there and the UK where I’ve live for the last ten years. I work in marketing and have colleagues and clients from all over the world, particularly the US and Europe. This book is so helpful for for figuring out the best way to present information to different people depending on the education system and culture they grew up with. It is incredibly fascinating to read about and so many things started to make sense to me in terms of communication challenges with certain people. Turns out they weren’t being difficult, they just need information presented in a different order to make sense of it. An absolute life saver of a book and essential reading for anyone in leadership, management or a client facing role.

Over simplification obviously but insightful and thought provoking
I’ve been living in Germany for 3 years after a decade working in the UK. The bluntness of German questioning in some meetings shocked - and still does - me. How do you deal with such a direct criticism of your work? This book is probably right - embrace it as an opener for debate and thought process. There are tonnes of other little bit of insights in the book on the differences in European cultures and the countless slight differences and seeming contradictions in the personalities of French, German etc. that is compared with the very different world of the deferrent world of Asia, where hierarchy and respect are still a huge part of the culture. As is consensus building oddly. These workds are even slightly different to the US, Nigeria and India. The book is defitnely worthwhile reading for anyone who deals across different cultures. My only question was that if diversity is really all that helpful in building a team that really wants to get stuff done.

Useful read
This book provokes deep thought about how different peoples from different countries have different approaches to time, authority, personal relationships and more. For people that work in a multicultural setting, and for those that are curious about the world, this book provides an excellent, easy to read, synopsis of the differences between cultures and how to bridge them. Ultimately, it’ll make you wiser and smarter. Highly recommended read.

Useful, practical examples for working in a global workplace
This is a useful book if you work in a global workplace environment. It provides countless useful examples of actual stories and challenges faced by individuals in their companies, and tips on how to overcome said challenges. It covers a wide range of company types and locations, and interaction types between people from different regions. The real practical, eye-opening information is through Erin's country mapping charts, where she plots (based on interviews and research) close to 20 different countries across 8 different factors that explain how these cultures build trust, communicate, collaborate, persuade, make decisions, etc. When you see the countries plotted out on these various scales, it leads to some quick "ah ha" moments that you can take back to your workplace and make minor tweaks in your approach that could make meaningful differences.I was between 4-5 stars because I'd have loved more statistical analysis or other published research in some of these examples, to supplement the anecdotal examples. Overall, a brief, useful, and enjoyable read.
