APIAquarium Antibacterial Remedy, Blue, 237 ml (Pack of 1)

My tank recently crashed and I had big spike of nitrites, that started affecting my fish. Black phantoms started developing fin rot and few neons had what some would describe as NTD, others as cotton mouth.I do not have spare tank where I could separate fish for the treatment so it had to be done in the main aquarium that holds shrimps too. I am now on 4th day of the treatment with 3 doses already applied. In all fairness I am using it along with pimafix and results are amazing. My shrimps are thriving, plants are growing, fins on black phantoms not only stopped rotting but are already rebuilding, neons are very active and their spots on bottom lip are barely visible. All that with ammonia kept at 0ppm and nitrites going down as expected. Might do another week treatment after water change to prevent any issue from coming back.After adding medication to your tank water will start bubbling. That's absolutely normal and will go away so don't pay attention to it. Don't get it on your clothes, carpets etc as it might discolour fabric.Overall would highly recommend

Not sure what the problem was with my tropical fish - all my water tests were perfect, no changes as in no new fish, no change to feeding. They were just generally well and it wasn't ich so decided to try this product. I still lost a couple of clown loaches but they are very sensitive fish so not really a surprise. However, all others recovered within a couple of days. Could be coincidence of course but I still recommend trying this product because mine are all well again! African Cichlids, Columbian Red Fins, Firemouth Cichlids and Plekos (one Pleko looked very poorly) all seem happy and healthy!

I was recommended this is the aquarium shop but was in 2 minds. So found it on here and went through reviews and so glad I did. I had a hurt j guppie who was attacked by adult guppie and was almost gone who had started turning white from being bit. I isolated it and used less than the recommended amount and put in with it and a little drop in larger tank, by the next morning it was healing and swimming around again. This has been safe to use and has been a success with my fish, it’s easy to use and smells fine, colour is clear and does not change colour of water. Does wonders for their health and helps with stress. No cleaning needed. I would recommend this item.

What can I say about API MELAFIX Freshwater Fish Bacterial Infection Remedy 473 ml Bottle.Haven't had any issue using this product so far will use when adding new, doing a water change or any signs of thin rot this product only really AIDS the healing of thin rot and prevention so if your fish is heavily ill with thin rot I would use a medicine dedicated to that. Haven't had any issues with water quality changing even with fry personally I wouldn't get a smaller bottle as you do go through this quite quickly maybe one bottle would last six months.Have had the issue twice now with this product though where the seal on top is more or less just placed there doesn't feel like it's really secured.

Trusted remedy & works too, with no nasty chemicals.

This seems to have helped my fish settle down as they didn't seem right for a while but now back to normal.

Hi There I have used this to treat my pond but have come across an issue that I think you should know about with regards to moving bed filters on ponds which use K1 media. I have been running a new K1 filter system which is settling in. I have been running this filter system alongside my old filter system for a 1500 gallon Koi pod. The K1 and K3 that I have been using in the new filter system had settled in after 3-4 weeks and I had a good turn over of the media without it floating on the surface water of the filter boxes which meant the bacteria had started to establish itself. I had one fish in the pond who had a sore which I decided to treat in the pond with Melafix. I calculated the dosage for the pond and applied it. But every time I dosed the pond my K1 in the filter box became boyent again and started to float and over spill the filter box. At first I thought I had added to much media so just cleared up the media and put it to one side with some media still turning in the filter. I dosed the pond again and it happened again. I stopped dosing the pond and the media settled down again in 48 hours so I added back the media again and let it settle for 6 days. I then decided to test the Melafix again by dosing the pond again and the same thing happen again over night. So I can confirm that the Melafix seems to be whipping off/clearing My K1 media of bacteria. The product itself seems good and I saw improvements in the fish I was treating but I would strongly recommend taking the fish out of the pond and treating in an isolation tank if you are using a moving bed filter system that is using k1 media which is just establishing itself with bacteria. Not sure if the treatment would wipe out the bacteria on a fully established K1 moving bed filtration system. There is nothing on the bottle that inform you of this apart from turning off UV's and avoid running carbon filters when using this treatment. I would recommend you test the treatment using a moving bed filtration system which uses K1 which is moved using air rather than water flow.
