Airvisual Outdoor is simple to install
Really all you need to do is sync your wifi router to the device, all you need is your wifi/router password, then once synced you can begin install which is really just a few screws and you snap the device on the hook.. then drill a small hole into the wall, feed the flat ethernet cable into the wall and plug it into the adapter that comes with the device and that's it! You can use the app on your phone or ipad to see real-time air quality information. It's perfect for me since I have neighbors that smoke, I can tell if I should open my doors/windows or not. Also, we have a lot of fires going on during the summer. You can also setup push notifications on your phone when the air is getting bad, it'll alert you on your phone, and when the airs starting to get good it also alerts you as well (you can set the AQI when you would want notifications too). All in all it was a great buy, I'm waiting for my airvisual indoor so i can pair it so I can always see what's going on outside without having to login to the app.EDIT: I just purchased the Airvisual pro and it was simple to connect the Airvisual Outdoor to the pro. Just go on your phone or tablet and find the "sharable code" and go into the airvisual pro and type it in and save. The reason why I got the airvisual pro is I no longer have to go on my phone or tablet to see the outdoor reading, if you go on those you don't get "real time" information, you have to keep refreshing the page which is annoying.. With airvisual pro I can see real-time readings at a glance which is very convenient.

Not bad, could use a few improvements
Requires a factory reset to use ethernet if wifi was previously configured and the product uses non-standard passive POE. The modular sensor form factor has massive potential if IQAir chooses to expand beyond just the optional CO2 sensor.

Avoid IQAir Sensors. No Support, No Transparency, and Useless Data
I regret purchasing an IQAir sensor. The product itself is unreliable, but the real failure is their nonexistent customer support. When you call in, the representatives have zero training, no technical knowledge, and no ability to actually troubleshoot the product. They’re simply there to answer the phone and tell you they’ll “escalate” your issue. The so-called tech team? Completely unresponsive—emails go unanswered, and despite multiple follow-ups, I’m still waiting for a callback from a supervisor. The initial issue was simple—my sensors were reporting erratic data. I attempted to replace them myself, but the data remained inconsistent. While other sensors like PurpleAir and AirGradient reported low particulate levels, the IQAir sensor’s algorithm inflated AQI readings significantly. For example, my sensor’s raw data might show a PM2.5 in the single digits, but the public AQI output would report 55. This suggests their system manipulates readings to influence publicly available air quality data rather than reflecting actual conditions. On top of that, their dashboards are completely closed off. Historical data is poorly visualized and lacks transparency. If you’re looking for a reliable, open-data air quality sensor, I strongly recommend AirGradient, which allows for full data publication and transparency. PurpleAir is also a solid alternative—while I’ve seen some sensor drift over time, their platform is much more open and useful than IQAir’s locked-in, opaque system.Bottom line: IQAir sensors are overpriced, inaccurate, and completely unsupported. Do yourself a favor and go with a company that actually values its customers. I contacted the CEO of North America. Will update if I get a response.

PM1? PM10? Historical data?
product reviewed: IQAir AirVisual Pro IndoorLooking for tools to help resolve air quality issues, I called IQAir on 2 occasions inquiring about the device- once before purchase and once after. Both calls, I felt like they could have cared less. First phone call, I must have interrupted a lunch. They were very kind and polite, but I got the sense it was their first day on the job or back in the office post-pandemic. The agent told me "it displays hourly data and can go back 12 months". White lie. It can display UP TO 48 hours of hourly historical data, then daily data up to 30 days, then monthly data up to a year. If I am troubleshooting air quality, I certainly need more than 48 hours of historical data at my fingertips, especially if the device takes up to 3 days to calibrate the CO sensor. That's right, 3 days. Testing your air in place with no outlet? Better bring an extension cord because the internal battery last 4-5 hours. And that's with the display is OFF. Speaking of which, the screen will turn on full brightness when you plug in or unplug device, regardless if you configure the screen to be OFF.The website claims it detects PM1, PM2.5 and PM10... but the PM1 and PM10 data is not reported on the device, in the app or on the website/dashboard. One must be using a Windows 10 PC (Windows 11 PC does not work) to connect to the device's console and export a CSV file to see this data. Is the PM2.5 data accurate? Hard to say. Outside our home, my wife has very little problems breathing. Inside our home, she is a wreck. This monitor doesn't detect a dang thing. Four dogs in the house but the monitor reads "0" all day and all night. The only time it ever leaves "0" is when I vacuum in very near vacinity and the exhaust from poor excuse for vacuum blows the air around. The air outside is worse than what this monitor detects inside the house, but wife goes outside for relief. Is the hygrometer accurate? It reads 38% everywhere in the house, even though it's 20 below zero outside and everything we touch creates a static shock. My 50+ years on the planet says the humidity in the house is around 22%-25% in the winter, heating with natural gas.The design of the user interface is a freshman attempt at displaying current and historical data. It wastes screen space with 75% garbage... giant icons and irrelevent data. It wastes all my time with its 60s slideshow to show me the information I'm interested in, even though it could all be displayed on one single page/screen. It definitely wastes all of my patience using the device. I can forward thru the pages with buttons... let's talk buttons... they're on the top of the device, you can't see them. You must pick the device up and find the buttons to use them. The LCD screen should at a minimum have a header pointing to each button, like a PC monitor. A single page should show what all the sensors detected at a given time, but no- I must cycle thru each page... it's like the lead designer of this device was infatuated with having the user press buttons. I should be able to take a token look at the device, see everything is good, and leave. Like a thermometer or hygrometer. I don't spend 2-3 minutes checking out my hygrometer. I look, 33%, I move on. If I see something spiked or of concern, I should have to push buttons (and swipe, tap, etc. in app) only if I'm drilling into specifics. When I called IQAir post-purchase to find out how to get the device to function per the website, I must have been interrupting their private time. I have an idea- if you are working from home, try to pretend you're working in the office with your boss watching you, like how a truck driver is monitored in his cab. The agent wanted me gone, did not have any answers, and I had to do all heavy lifting to get them to mercifully forward me one of their internal knowledgebase articles. This company's primary objective is to sell gigantic enterprise-type solutions. The sub-$1000 products are an afterthought. The agents are employees as a commodity.
