An Absolute Bargain

(Important information will be highlighted through ALL CAPS)The moondrop space travel earbuds are the definition of VALUE FOR YOUR DOLLAR in consumer audio. They do NOT HAVE THE BEST SOUND FOR THE PRICE, but the sound is FAR ABOVE THE CURVE FOR WIRELESS EARBUDS. Combined with the ANC, these are a MUST PURCHASE if you are on a budget.Audio:These have 3 preset tunings. The "reference" tuning is PLEASING, with an overall WARM signature, with CLEAR AND PRESENT BASS. It is a NON-GRATING profile, that would be enjoyable for hours. The "monitor" tuning is NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. The BASS LOSES PUNCH, and overall it sounds BLOWN OUT WITH MIDS. If you are looking for accurate monitors for production work, these are the last thing that should be on your list. (I suggest the Truthear Holas for <$30 production monitors)The "basshead" tuning is A FUN GIMMICK FOR OCCASIONAL LISTENING. The Bass is PUNCHY, but NOT OVERWHELMING. If I was a basshead, I could see myself using this as the default tuning. However, I am not, so this tuning is SLIGHTLY GRATING OVER LONG PERIODS OF TIME. Overall, this option provides a little extra fun if you're listening to something that needs the boosted thud.Build Quality:These feel slightly PLASTICY, but NOT TRASHY. They feel like an item I would spend 40~ dollars on, with one notable exception: THE CHARGING PORT IS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CASE. This is slightly annoying, as the design heavily suggests it should be stood upright, not laid on the side. The earbuds themselves feel MATTE, WITH LIGHT TEXTURING that makes them EASY TO HANDLE AND GRIP. The monitors have an EXCELLENT SEAL due to the wide construction, and FIT LIGHTLY BUT TIGHTLY. The included ear-tips are CHEAP AND RUBBERY, I would suggest replacing them if you have the means, as a softer silicon will be more comfortable in the long run (also consider foam if you really enjoy bass, foam tips create a better seal to trap all those low frequencies). The case has solid construction, and the magnetism on the charging contacts is excellent.Additional Features:The noise canceling is CLEAN AND NOTICABLE, which makes it PROBABLY THE BEST ANC AT THE PRICE POINT. It will block about 50% OF WHAT MORE EXPENSIVE ANC HEADPHONES BLOCK.The bluetooth connection is CRISP, with NO STATIC and SOLID RANGE. They CONNECT EASILY AND INTUITIVELY; removing them from the case puts them in pairing mode, or connects them to a pre-paired device. The touch controls are FUNCTIONAL. They are SLIGHTLY SENSITIVE, and provide NO HAPTIC FEEDBACK. They work, do as they say, and are reprogrammable through the Moondrop Link app. The monitors are LARGE ENOUGH TO READJUST WITHOUT ACCIDENTALLY HITTING THE TOUCH CONTROLS, which is incredibly rare in this sort of cheap tws earbud. The Moondrop Link app functions, is intuitive, and overall unremarkable. (I found it better than the FiiO app, but that's not saying a ton)Conclusion:These are an absolute bargain for the price point. I compare them to the first generation airpods, although the plastic feels cheaper, and the case is less impressively designed. However, they sound better than the first generation airpods. In my opinion, the value balances out. I would highly recommend these to anyone who enjoys the cheaper things in life.DISCLAIMER: This is all MY OPINION from MY EXPERIENCES. Your mileage my vary. My audio testing was done using:"Fancy Clown" by MF DOOM"The Witch Queen of New Orleans" by Redbone"Leave it" by Yes"Overture..." etc. by Rush (from 2112)I chose these songs to provide a variety of sounds and pitches, if your musical tastes are vastly different from the above media, consider my review with an added pinch of salt.If you do not enjoy these headphones as much as I do, then THAT'S OKAY! We all have different opinions, and that is why different products exist. I can be right about loving them, and you can be right about hating them.

They're so comfortable that I wish they sounded better. +Update: Very good transparency mode.

UPDATE: I'm coming around on these now that I've spent some more time with them, because they have one killer feature at this price point:Transparency mode. I've never had a good experience with this feature on my other earbuds, but these somehow get it perfect. It's so nice to be able to walk around the city or the grocery store and hear what's going on around me while still listening to music at a relatively high quality. I've even managed to have full conversations with people with the transparency mode enabled and my source's volume turned down a bit. Combined with their extremely light weight, this truly makes it feel like I'm not even wearing them. They still sound a little too top-heavy for my taste, but I can get over it for this much functionality at this price. If Moondrop ever releases a V2 of these with a sound signature closer to popular cheap IEMs like the ZSN Pro or the Zero:2, I'll be buying them instantly.----I bought these because the proposition of a set of $25 TWS IEMs from a beloved Chinese hi-fi brand was too novel to ignore. I wasn't expecting the greatest sound I've ever heard (though it wouldn't have been out of the question, considering how good some of my other CHi-Fi products sound); I just thought it might be nice to have an inexpensive set of wireless earbuds. For context in this review, I use an iPhone 15 Pro as my primary playback device for music, podcasts, and video.----Sound quality is arguably the most important attribute to measure in a pair of headphones of any kind, so I'll start with that. Some other reviews have said that these earbuds are abnormally "quiet," but that has not matched my experience so far. The Space Travel earbuds don't seem noticeably more quiet than any of my other headphones or earbuds.Moondrop advertise that they have three different "bass tuning" modes that can be selected via the Moondrop Link app—Monitor, Reference, and Basshead—and I've compared them all on a few tracks I know well. According to Moondrop's frequency graphs, Monitor is supposed to be the basic/standard/"flat" tuning; Reference and Basshead can be thought of as two levels of what we traditionally call "bass boost." I've settled on the Reference setting as the one that sounds the most natural to me. At any setting, these aren't a particularly bass-heavy pair of earbuds, but bass and sub-bass frequencies are clearly audible when they should be.It's the tuning of the upper-mid and treble frequencies that ultimately hinder these earbuds. Unfortunately, there are dips and spikes in places that almost perfectly emphasize all the worst parts of lossy audio codecs. Music from my personal library (LAME encoded at V0) that sounds completely transparent on all my other gear does *not* perform well on the Space Travel buds. Its as if all the encoding artifacts are being amplified in a way designed to torture me specifically. Vocal sibilants and cymbals especially have that stereotypical chirpy/splashy sound you'll be all too familiar with if you've ever done any transparency testing with lossy audio codecs, or if you ever acquired any low-bitrate mp3 files from peer-to-peer sharing networks in the 2000s. These are absolutely terrible qualities for a pair of earbuds to have if you plan to listen to a lot of podcasts, which are almost exclusively delivered in lossy formats at a relatively low bitrate. With lossless sources, those same frequencies are just too loud, and the frequency spectrum just sounds unbalanced and top heavy in general. To put music nerd and/or audiophile words to it, the Space Travel earbuds' sound signature can be best described as thin, shrill, airy, and sharp.Overall, I very much do not like the sound of these earbuds, but at the same time...I have heard worse.----Next up is comfort. My left ear canal is oddly shaped, so I have trouble fitting even the most comfortable IEMs without custom tips. That said, I was able to get a decent seal with the included silicone tips in both ears, and these buds are so extremely lightweight that I barely feel them. I tried and failed to completely shake them out of my ears, so they fit securely enough for my purposes, they're comfortable enough that I'd have no problem wearing them for hours at a time.I was also pleasantly surprised to find that only one side of the "stalks" responds to touch input, so these are easy to grip to adjust their fitment without accidentally sending a touch command.----Finally, I'll briefly cover the software side of things. The Moondrop Link app works about as well as any other similar app I've used with my Bluetooth headphones/earbuds and speakers. There aren't a ton of options, but they're all pretty easy to understand and configure. I was most interested in having the ability to disable some of the touch controls, and thankfully the app does allow this. I've set mine so that everything is disabled except a single tap for play/pause, and it's great. The anime girl voice prompts are a bit strange, but they're recognizable and aren't deafeningly loud or jarring, so they do what they're supposed to. That's more than you can say for some Bluetooth audio devices, so I'll take it.----In conclusion:The short version of all the above is that these are very comfortable earbuds with decent software and controls that are severely held back by their unfortunate sound signature. Because of their price, I envision myself using these a lot for listening to music and podcasts in my workshop and not being too upset if they end up getting destroyed in a tool-related accident.

Lasts FOREVER Tested by teenager

Tired of going through wires headphones that break. Are the connected 🎧 to bulky? Does your kid loose them? Not with this pair! Lasts forever. We've had them 9 months. The charger is what makes it great. It's a box that semi clear and you can't misplace it due to the size (not super big). Excellent quality, East set up, won't ever have and ear aches if you call asleep in the so I Guess comfortable as heck? Oh, and no more ear infections. Probably because they work so well he keeps they clean. Buy now parents, save for the future Christmas or back to school!

best cheap option out there

These earbuds are absolutely soooooo good. For only $20 it's actually an amazing choise if you're choosing earbuds with ANC. blows every other earbud option out the water and has a customizable eq within the app. App is a bit buggy tho. besides that it's actually really good.
