Worth it
Best work blade ever! Excellent grip, perfect weight, solid frame, easily worth the 30 bucks! I just wish they would upgrade the blade lock somehow. It can be difficult to change the blade, especially when your fingers are cold. Other than that, i make sure it stays clipped on my pocket so coworkers don't grab it up!

Just what I needed to tackle little tasks, when you don’t have a pocket knife on hand or regular box cutter. This GERBER small box opener is the ideal, tool to carry rather than a pocket knife or box cutter. Looks a little less conspicuous than other tools, and fits nicely comfortably in the pocket. I recommend this GERBER TOOL to anyone and everyone; GREAT buy! Oh, yeah perfectly delivered in perfect condition! FIVE STARS! Thank you, AMAZON PRIME!

No longer TSA approved (even with blade removed)
TSA changed the rules for carrying box cutters. They're no longer allowed in the cabin even with the blade removed. This is obviously stupid, and enforcement is inconsistent at best, but something to be aware of. I recently flew with the Prybrid (with the blade removed) twice, then had it confiscated at LAX on the third occasion. I liked it enough that I bought a replacement.I bought this knife direct from Gerber as soon as it was released with a pocket clip. It had a smooth operation, but the sliding mechanism was a bit weak. Anything that gave more resistance than cardboard would often cause the blade to retract. That particular unit was confiscated at the airport. The replacement unit I bought has a pretty rough action right out of the package. It might break in over time, but that would also mean that the inner metal slider would have effectively worn the inside of the G10 handle slab smoother. G10 is basically laminated fiberglass, so that would create a pretty bad respiratory hazard in your hand. Maybe not the best design choice. The Prybrid works well for EDC, but for work I use a heavier duty full size Milwaukee Fastback.A heavier duty, yet lighter weight EDC alternative would be the Milwaukee Compact Slide Utility Knife. It's a little bulkier and lacks the extra features, but it's cheaper and works great. I'm still deciding which one I prefer.

I really wanted to like this Prybrid, but it is too flawed for me.
As you may have seen in some of the negative reviews, there are at least two common issues. Issue number one is the prying blades are too thick to wedge into many places (or to effectively use as a flat head driver.) And issue number two being the very difficult task of changing the blade. I can confirm both issues are true, at least for me.I was able to take care of the first problem by grinding down the two pry edges to about just under a millimeter and then adding a mirror polish. It worked and I had an effective pry bar and flat head driver. However I was never able to easily (even with various tools) change the blade. I could do it, but it was painful and made me incredibly nervous that I might end up slicing my hand. Additionally, the "cord cutter" available while the blade is stowed is useless. I repeatedly tried using it to trim paracord and finally gave up. This was a new blade, so I'm not sure what the deal was.I ended up purchasing the Gerber Prybrid X and it has been much more functional, right out of the package.

dangerious to ues
I hate putting a 1 star, but I also like good quality tools. & this knife is not one of those, sorry. the over all length is to short for an adult person or man to really hold with any type of security. There for the pryer on the opposite side is really worthless because you can't pry anything open with it. but mostly, the blade doesn't lock open when using it the cutting motion (by pulling back on the cut/blade action) pushed the place all the way out of the handle to the replacement position. You need to hold the slide button so the blade doesn't slide past the handle to the remove position. & changing the blade, you can only use specific utility blades, because the blade top notch out (there's two) some don't fit into the cut out spot on the tool. When I emailed Gerber, & sent a picture of the blades not fitting, I never got a call or a email back. There a complete mess

With a clip is much better!
I had bought one without a clip about a year ago. It was very stiff and I red-necked a clip from broken tape measure and a screw to it and I still didn’t like it. I love the size and how it fits my hand and the screwdriver/pry part works great for quick electrical cabinet access. So that one sat in a pile till I ordered it with a clip and it’s beyond smoother and tools are just as durable and nice thickness for pocket carry. Blade change is still finicky but no big deal to be intentional.

Doesn't hold up in actual construction use
I love the design and concept of the knife. It initially felt great and rugged. The only part they got wrong is the actual knife. It feels like crap when you open it and it doesn't hold up to any pressure when cutting with it. If they designed a more sturdy version I'd love to try it. The pry bar is sturdy but the actual rasor and opening mechanism suck. I like the design so I hope they improve on it
