You get what you pay for
Out of the box sound amazing. Don't even need an EQ. Of course everyone's ears and tastes are different but if you're a casual audiophile. These things are perfectly tuned out of the box. Materials feel great and sturdy. Comfortable feel and the clamp force isn't bad. In fact, these feel way better than the Arctis Nova pros I am replacing these with. The clamp on those is way too much and they are made for a smaller head compared to these big headphones. These headphones can be adjusted to fit a smaller head or a large one like mine. The carry case is really cool to have if you need to transport these. And if you get a dac amp with a truebass function. It will add some extra based to balance out the higher treble. Let alone having a dac amp gives you superior sound quality. With and without truebass these are amazing. I paired this with a ifi zen v2 and will give you insane headroom power wise. Pretty expensive for a set of headphones but you are actually paying for a professional grade high quality set of headphones. These aren't gimmicky gaming headphones. These are the real deal.

A Superb Headphone Value
The Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro Mk II headphones are closed-back headphones that come with two different cables (straight and coiled) and two different kinds of ear pads (leatherette and velour), all packaged in a durable case for easy portability. The cables are fitted with 3.5 mm plugs used in most phones and portable audio players, but a 1/4” adapter is included. These headphones are efficient enough to be used with phones and portable players. These headphones were intended for use by recording professionals and musicians in recording studios; as such, their build quality is excellent. Although they are designed with professionals in mind, I have found them to be top-notch headphones for in-home use when listening to various genres of music - classical, jazz, rock/pop. These headphones excel at extracting information from recordings without overemphasizing any particular range in the audio spectrum. Simply put, you will hear what is on the recording.I found the DT 1770 MkII to be lightweight and comfortable to wear for extended listening sessions. I prefer the leatherette ear pads to the velour pads for comfort, but I can discern no difference in the sound quality using either type of pad. I found switching between the pads to be a little tricky, with scant instructions provided on changing them. (Hint: start attaching the new pads at the V-notch on the earphone cup.)It is possible to spend several thousand dollars on audiophile-quality headphones, but for those with more modest budgets, the Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro Mk II headphones will get you a long way down the road to audiophile nirvana. Highly recommended.

Great headphones- bad earpad retention design choice
Headphones sound/feel fantastic. They are comfortable.Changing the earpads is a very painful task and takes way longer than it should. They should use magnets or something rather than a tiny ring of rubber/plastic holding the cup on. Something i don't think I should have to deal with when spending 600$ on a pair of headphones. If you don't switch out the earpads much then it probably won't annoy you or affect you much.

Not disappointed
Don’t take much to drive, definitely sound good especially with music the fit is your standard byerdynamics especially how the ear cup fits around you’re ears. The build quality is also good I have the dt770 pro x limited edition and these feel more premium. Functionality they are pretty much plug and play but I’m running them with a g6 due to playing video games mostly competitive such as cod. Now the negatives I think 599 is a bit steep maybe 450-500 should be the price point. Other than the price these are great if price isn’t an issue don’t hesitate to buy.

Top sound quality and workmanship.
This is my introduced to Beyerdynamic, and I’m really impressed. They have crisp, clear and clean high tones (treble) while also providing quality bass. Punchy, not rumbling bass. Granted, you can adjust the sound dynamics in an EQ, but by default I find the sound range is quite good. At high volumes it can distort on the low end but overall offers a wide soundstage. Beyerdynamic produces their own drivers, which is part of the reason for the high prices. Sound quality is what makes these shine.I find they work great for music (both listening and recording). I also find they work great for movies (I plugged into my PS5 controller and streamed a movie to test). But do they work for gaming? Yes and no. There is no microphone on the headphones or cables, so they don't offer voice chat. The headset connects using a 3-pin mini XLR plug, and while I did find mics that work with that, I did not see a cable that would allow both a mic and the headset under one connection. So, if you use for gaming, you will need a second source for a mic. Also, I found the bass to be a bit intense for FPS. When playing Overwatch 2, the explosions were a bit distracting and made hearing footsteps more difficult. If you have a way to control the EQ, you should be able to turn the bass down and make them work. As for myself, I plugged them into a Razer USB Audio Controller and used the Razer Synapse software to lower the bass. It’s so intense that even with the 31Hz and 63Hz set to 0, the bass was too powerful for gaming, so I needed to go into the negatives. As to the quality of the workmanship and materials used, they are up there as well. I was able to wear the headphones for hours without fatigue. The headband is cushiony and comfortable on my head. They don’t trap too much heat, so I didn’t have any issue of sweating. There are two different ear pads: Velours (cloth), which is installed by default, and leatherette (synthetic not genuine leather). I did find swapping them slightly challenging as the ear cups don’t tilt downward (or out), which requires you to install while the opposite side is in the way. Even though these are closed-back, I will say I could hear outside noises more than expected. Outside sound is not blocked out, just muffled. The leatherette ear pads seem to do a slightly better job at muffling than the cloth ones. If you want to use for esports, I would look elsewhere (such as David Clark H10-13S (ASIN: B002CJ3NQK).Also, in terms of outside noises, I noticed that cable vibrations transfer to the earcups. So, if the cable bumps against something or rubs across your shirt, you hear it inside the cups. This is true for both the straight cable and the coiled one. Thankfully the cables are not cloth covered (e.g. nylon braided) otherwise I can image they would be even noisier. You’ll want to set it up so that when you move around the cable does not rub on anything. The strait cable is on the long side. I measured it slightly over 10 feet (including the plugs). This is good if you need the reach but also means more area can get rubbed and bumped. The coiled cable is slightly over 4 feet when collapsed but stretches out to around 17.5 feet.I weighed the strait cable at 62.2 grams (including all plugs).I weighed the coiled cable at 98.5 grams (including all plugs).I weighed the headphones 378.7 grams (including cloth ear pads). The case is on the large side and there’s no handle to grab onto for carrying. That said, it holds the headphones, both cables, and both ear pads. It protects everything inside well (good padding and quality zipper).### Conclusion ###Overall, I will say these headphones are worth the cost so long as you need the higher quality. They are much better than my other studio headphones that I've used when recording. I did learn that Beyerdynamic was recently acquired (June 2025) by Chinese OEM manufacturer Cosonic International. Before that they had been family-owned and operated in Berlin since 1924. The claim is they will still be handmade in Germany, but there are skeptics worried about an eventual drop in quality. Regardless of what the future of the brand holds, I can say these DT 1770 Pro MKII are high end.
