PMR: Our Impossible Love

So here I'm writing the review of Our impossible love(a bit late). First of all sorry for all the grammatical mistakes I'll make.Well this book is not just a love story only.It's different from all your books.This book is a journey of two people discovering what they truly want to become,what they truly are. The journey of a young girl who is searching for the woman in her. A boy who wants to make his parents proud. I'll write individually about the characters and what I loved about them and how beautifully you wrote them.Aisha - A young girl not looking for love in her life but searching for the woman she wants to become.She's fearless,straightforward,intelligent and most importantly beautiful in her own skin.She make mistakes and celebrates while discovering them.Her courage to apologize to Namrata, the way she don't categorize people is what I've admired the most.After being raped how she fought back, how she decided to not to be a victim anymore, how she learned to love again, to live again,to face the demons, to raise her voice against Vibhor, to show him his place. The way she loved her mother.Her support for her brother.Her love for Danish.Danish - A below average boy who is searching for his hidden talent, who wants to make his parents proud, who loves his brother more than life. The way he listens to people without judging them, the fact that he wants to help people to face their fears, to make them realize where they are wrong, the way he let Aisha to be herself. His support for her, his care, his undying love for her, his believe in her, his efforts to help her anyhow. Still he didn't confessed his love infront of her.He was so caring,understanding and mature when he handled Aisha, when he waited for her to live again, to love again and respected her no matter what people said about her.His endless efforts to help her and other teenagers.Sarthak - His love for his sister, his own battles, his regret that he didn't do much for his sister.The way he fought back, got a scholarship, the fact that he didn't denied that he's a gay and not ashamed of it.The way he accepted what he truly is and came back to fought for her sister.It's just awesome.All the other characters Ankit, Aisha's mother, her friends all were written so beautifully that I can't just stop myself from loving them.In all your books there's a love story, two people falling in love with each other, their rebound relationships. Yes this is the most different thing about this book, all your books have rebound stories but in this Danish waited for her, he didn't loved anyone else. Loved this fact.The way you portrayed relationships of a brother-sister, mother-daughter, two brothers, friendship and yes undying love of Danish and Aisha.The most amazing part how you portrayed the struggle of a rape victim, her fight against the society, the courage of a young girl, about how she felt, how she thought of sharing his virginity not losing it, how she smiled again. You made her so strong by your words.God!! Durjoy Dutta you know you're getting better and better and better after each of your book.You write so well, you're awesome like really awesome!! Durjoy!!!!! How you do this, how can someone write so good, how can someone portray such good characters.Love you, admire you, respect you!!It's not just a love story, it's much more than that!!Sorry for all the grammatical mistakes.😋

And I spent my Sunday reading Durjoy Datta's 12th novel named "Our Impossible Love" which is my 5th book of this year and I'm very glad that I managed to complete this 289-pages book in a day. It's a very light read which makes it easy for you to keep turning pages to explore what will happen with the protagonist in the very next sentence. Durjoy Datta is a young author who knows what his young audience needs from him. He always manages to write a book based on teenagers yet touch a different layer of emotion each time. From last 2-3 years, he have begun experimenting with characters in his books which is proving him to be a writer better than many other claiming to sell more than him in off-seasons when these bestselling authors don't release their work. It is incredible on the author's part to write more than 12 books in his writing career of 9 years. Kudos! Our Impossible Love is a story of Danish Roy and Aisha Paul, both different in their own way since school time, and find it very hard to compare themselves with their classmates and peers. But time brings both of them together and then how chemistry changes and twists and turns happen is what makes Our Impossible Love a book that you would ask everyone to read at least once. Yes, the initial 35-40 pages of the book are little annoying as some uncomfortable situations of both the characters are talked about and it becomes hard to accept in the initial pages itself and you assume that the whole book would carry about their trauma with their changing hormones etc. But the moment author starts introducing more characters in the story in form of Sarthak, Ankit, Vibhor etc, you know that the tale is about to begin. Durjoy Datta has chosen to tell the story in first person for the main protagonists which gives a special touch to the narration. The Indian pulp-fiction writers should learn from Durjoy on how to speak about a current topic without being preachy yet speaking everything that's politically and morally correct. It doesn't bore you even for a while and you want to read the author's viewpoint on many other youth issues too. Author talks about uncomfortable sex a girl has to go through in the name of relationship, the scary days after the girl decides to stop the boy from misusing her body, an emotion of a boy who hears rumour about his sister sleeping with different boys daily, an emotional turmoil of a boy who realizes that he is a gay and his fight against daily abuses from his classmates for being something which isn't in his control, an inferiority complex of a boy who is always treated extra against his brother who's a performer and achiever etc. This book talks on so many youth issues in such an interesting manner that you couldn't believe in the end that you read a story which actually opened your mind towards different kinds of people you have around you whom you don't even consider in your life. This book is definitely one of Durjoy's best attempt and the author have finally managed to find a purpose behind his passion of writing. I have always been a good critic to the author and have rated him both- High and Low but this time, it's definitely on a better side- I rate this book 3.9* out of 5. GO FOR IT! It's a recommendation. 0.1 less than 4 because I found climax little silly and not a very good end to a story which carried itself with a great stature throughout. :-) Thanks. After reading two Indian female authors who are bestselling romance writers I decided to read Indian men who are also in the same charts. I have found my journey really interesting for several reasons especially who reads these authors and why?Now onto Our Impossible Love. The cover yells typically romantic novel and the blurb does as well but I assure you it's not that at all. I was pleasantly surprised at Datta's writing style and the social issues he has covered.This author has informed his fans in a different way. I don't live in India nor have I ever but do hear experiences covered in this story by relatives. I don't want to say more but all I am saying is that Indian teenagers especially should pick this up. I will be recommending to everyone with an open mind.I look forward to reading more of Durjoy's books.

I love this book. I am looking forward to read all the other books of Durjoy Dutta. He is indeed a wonderful writer.

The author makes an attempt to explore various issues facing young people today and perhaps offer direction. Midway through the book, its evident that he is only showcasing his thoughts. he does not dare flip the coin to explore the other side. Every society has a conservative side. in this book its non existent, which is far from reality.R18
