This is a very solid product for the price tag. I work with video on a daily basis and I am always looking for something new to add to my productions. Now a days we all always have a camera phone on us at all times, so it is great when it can be incorporated into the production. The Hohem Smartphone Gimbal makes this easy and quick to incorporate into a production. Let me go through some of the pros and cons.Pros:1) Lightweight. The product is very light, which is great for attaching to a monopod and moving without killing your back. Also great for adding to a small kit when doing a production.2) Packaging. The product comes in a great packaging that fits the gimble, the small tripod and the charging cable. This is rare, so many camera gear and accessories come without its own bag or a bag that fits everything that it comes with.3) Battery. This has a great battery, definity outlasts the phone. Plus you can charge the gimble while using, so all you need is a USB charger. Also you can use the battery in the gimble to charge your phone while recording.4)Easy app. The app is pretty easy to navigate. Also very quick to set up, this is always key when working on a video set.5)Face tracking. This is pretty awesome if you are recording video of yourself for a Vlog. You can set the gimble on a table or tripod and not have to worry about walking out of the shot.6) Timelapse. Not only is the time lapse handy, but being about to set start and end points is fantastic. This can really save you time from zooming in and digitally panning in post production.7) easy controls. The pan/tilt and zoom controls are very easy to use and respond very well on the product.Cons:1) Jerking motion. Sometimes I get a quick jerking motion from the gimble, but this is mostly when moving too fast. After a few test shots this becomes a non issue.2) App capture in lower video quality. I had no problems recording 4k video on my phone through the app, but as soon as I switched to the lower quality for face tracking I did notice a larger than expected drop in video quality.3) Large phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy 9+ which may be a bit too large. The Gimble worked just fine with it, but for charging a smaller phone would be key. Also my phone had to be taken out of the case. Not a big deal, but be aware if you have a larger phone.Some tips I found:1) set the phone into the gimble before turning the gimble on.2) set up the bluetooth connection through the app and not through your phone's bluetoothOver all this is a great product and a great addition to your video kit. I definitely recommend this for Vloggers and independent producers with good camera phones. I have already used this for quite a bit of behind the scenes footage and I am very happy with what I have recorded.

First let me say I love Amazon Prime. The quick free shipping and easy peasy returns are almost flawless.I have been looking for a good quality heavy duty feature packed Gimbal for my S22 Ultra. I wont list the ones I have tried and sent back....all of which included expensive to very budget minded priced ones. Trust me I have tried many. Each had their pros and cons but I just couldn't find the right fit...until I ordered the Hohem Isteady Mobile Plus which is an upgrade from the previous version that I tried a few years ago and disliked. The new version is exactly what I have been looking for.It's well built and fits perfectly in my large hand. All the function buttons are easily accessible on the grip. Mounting/balancing the phone is a breeze.The Hohem Joy app works great with my S22 Ultra. The other Gimbals I tried were lacking in the use of their apps with my S22 Ultra. I have had no issues with this one. It has been frustrating because most of these Gimbals and their apps are set up for iPhone's and rarely work with Android phones. Take a note Gimbal creators. Make sure your apps work properly for Android users...there are many of us.If youre looking for a great quality Gimbal for your cellphone don't go to sleep on this one. Just because it's priced cheaper than many of the others trust me when I say it's actually worth more than its current price. When I purchased mine it was 89 bucks! I had purchased one for 229.00 that was feature packed but again the app was almost useless for my phone even though it was a professional entry level Gimbal.Buy the Hohem Isteady Mobile Plus and give it a try. Despite having a background in film and video, I'm probably the least technical person you'll ever meet, so everything related to the field that I invest in I make sure is super easy for me to operate. And if I'm investing time and money in it, I expect a good quality. This gimbal did not disappoint. I wanted something for my phone after the birth of my 3rd baby because trying to photograph 3 little boys under the age of 4 even with a mirrorless camera is challenging. And since I always have my phone on me this made much more sense. I was immediately impressed with how fast I received it in the mail, and upon opening, I fell in love with the case - super sturdy (totally little boy proof), compact (fits in my diaper bag), and everything fits perfectly. Again, not a technical person, I was also surprised and excited to learn it's easy to operate with my Samsung Galaxy S8 (seems everything is only made for the iPhone anymore). Only hang up was having to take the case off, but that's such a minor inconvenience I debated even putting it in this review. I'm excited to get more use out of it this summer as a mommarazzi, and even more so in the fall when I hope to shoot another short film. Definitely recommend and will probably purchase for hubby too as a fathers day gift - he's much more technical than me.- Rachel
