Great Homework Practice
My son struggles with focusing and math word problems are a nightmare for everyone involved! I use these for practice at home and most of the problems go along with the in school curriculum ( Florida), some are even advanced, which will be useful for the summer when school is out. The only homework his teacher gives is handwriting practice once a week, so I tear out a pages and will include one ( front and back) in his class folder to do in after care maybe twice a week, according to what they're working on in class. His teacher saw some and loved them and his aftercare counselors will help him out when needed. The lessons are clear and easy to understand, as far as math word problems anyhow... The book is thin, about 60 pages, but well illustrated, very good quality and page thickness. Best of all, PERFORATED! That is a huge plus when you're in a rush. Definitely a good buy, especially for the price, the overall quality is fantastic.

Easy to understand
I bought this to continue working with my 7 year old rising 2nd grader. He is very good in math anyway but this is helping him to maintain that throughout the summer. The problems are easy to understand and fun to do. As a parent, I appreciate the fact that the answers are in the back in case you get stumped and need a little help. Otherwise this book is easy to use and helps in reinforcing what he already knows.

Typo, but good.
My son is very good at math but the word problens introduced in 1st grade started to give him some trouble. This was what I needed for extra practice but there’s a few things that bother me.Typo on page 22. 2+1=2 is printed and we all know that’s wrong. Also there’s a page that has both addition subtraction on it (which is really what I wanted) and the page just makes no sense in the fact there’s no thinking for the little ones. For example it wants the kids to circle which statement matches the addition and then matches the subtraction. However they have it lined up where the addition/subtraction statement is right next to the equation in all of the examples. It’s more of a review page than a problem page but I thought it was dumb.Anyway, for the most part it’s good for some extra practice. Wish there was more addition/subtraction mixed review pages. However any help is good help.

Perfect!
My granddaughter did not get enough individual attention in first grade and didn’t understand basic concepts with new ones added and she’s very confused. I bought this book and it is 100% perfect for reviewing all of the concepts at our pace until I knew she understood it. And boy did I see the lightbulb go on!This child now grabs her math book eager to do it, and I could barely get her to do flashcards. That speaks volumes to me. Yes, it’s basic concepts but if your child needs to get a firm grasp on them, this is a fantastic tool! I am so pleased to see her so happy at learning math! They don’t overdo the concepts just enough pages to make sure she gets it. I am excited to do it with her. I recommend.
