Best. soap. EVER! (eczema sufferer)
I have suffered with severe eczema and dry skin since I was a child. About 2 years ago, I started buying this soap on ebay for as little as £2 a bar (the price has gone up considerably now) but I would keep buying it even if it was £10 a bar because this soap has changed my life for the better (a little dramatic I know, but it really has). I am now buying from Amazon instead of ebay because the price per bar is a little cheaper on here now. This soap has TRANSFORMED my skin. I had dry, cracked, dull grey-looking skin and literally after a couple uses with this my skin was bright and I always get compliments about how soft my skin is. I don't even need to invest so much into body creams and moisturisers because this soap just cleans you so well without stripping the body of its natural oils. How I use: I put on exfoliation gloves. I wet the gloves under warm water then rub the soap into the gloves until it forms a nice soft lather. I then rub this into my skin...trust me people it will leave your skin feeling soft and looking healthy. It gets rid of all the dead skin. Please don't be those people that just wash yourself with just your hands and soap, use a washcloth or exfoliation gloves for a proper cleanse!I also love this soap because of how few ingredients it contains and will continue to buy it probably for the rest of my life or until it stops being sold. If I ever go to Greece I will pack my whole suitcase with these things lol. Life saving soap! PS- I am now completely eczema free on my body :)

EXCELLENT OLIVE OIL SOAP .
I long have been a fan of olive oil soap as I look for natural, fragrance free and as few ingredients as possible.Of all the olive oil soaps I have tried so far this is my favourite and I plan to repeat purchase.I think the fact that the salt contained within it is from the Aegean sea makes a difference plus the ph balancing citric acid and a good olive oil ; bottom line is this is not drying as I can even use it on my face and it works wonders for clothes too , leaves them smelling super clean and fresh!About smell I would like to say that all substances on the planet smell of something or other and olive oil is no exception, but I find the olive oil earthy smell of this soap utterly delicious ; if you don't like it keep in mind that once you rinse it off it will not remain on your skin at all!If something smells of utterly nothing it probably has fragrance maskers added which means chemicals!

Exceptional natural quality, pure Greek olive oil soap.
Superb soap, only one I use as I got fed up not being able to find a soap with minimal ingredients, until now!! Perfect for the whole family, smell can be a bit strange at first, but this can be overlooked by this quality natural product. 7* Papoutsanis, for keeping this traditional craft alive, thank you so much!! Just wanted to add as I have read some of the reviews regarding the soap not drying properly, it gets too slippery etc. The best way to prevent this from happening is to invest in a really good soap dish and where possible leave it on a windowsill to help keep it dry. I have been using this particular one since having tried a number of others which is no way as good as this one. Here is the product number and store (item ref No# 121718196651 shop is-: paulthefairtradestore)!Mrs Ed.

Re Product ingredients.
I wonder what kind of response one reviewer got when “reporting misleading product information” regarding the ingredients. I read the packaging as stating in Greek, English and French NO sulphates, etc , all the ingredients he/she objected to.I find this soap very gentle and does not irritate my sensitive skin. It has a “natural” not unpleasant smell. Also, as another reviewer pointed out if you use a good soap dish it doesn’t go to mush. I cut the rather large bar in two, for me it makes it easier to handle.

Smells nice, good amount of lather and has just the right level of hardness.
Hardness is an important factor with traditional soaps as some have to be rubbed a lot to get any off and others like the Oliva brand are too soft and go mushy and slimy as soon as they contact water (messy and means you go through the soap far too quickly as a lot of it is unusable/gets washed down the drain.)My only complaint is I wish each bar wasn’t individually wrapped in plastic to reduce waste. If you’ve never used olive oil soaps then I highly recommend you do. They are much more gentle on your skin so it doesn’t dry as much. But they work just as well as any body wash/shampoo that comes in a bottle so don’t worry that they don’t clean properly. Also, you can use them on hair as well just like a shampoo.

It smells of Greek Islands
I bought these soaps for my husband for our anniversary. On our very first visit to Rhodes Greece we used olive oil soap and we loved it. It smells divine to us and also moisturises your skin making it feel so soft.As we are not allowed to travel, I thought I would bring a little bit of Greece to us.And it worked. Close your eyes and smell the pine trees , it just takes you back to your favourite places. I will be buying these again.

Bad batch. Buy Marseille soap instead.
Bad batch. Discoloration and foul odour. Had to return. This is a very good soap but the particular time it was defective. Probably not stored correctly or expired. Buy Savon de Marseille instead. Much better quality and better for skin

Best soap
I love this soap. After a similar brand with exact ingredients disappeared from all stores in my area, I came online to track it down. There are a couple ingredients which does wonders for my ridiculously sensitive skin. I got 6 bars which should last me about 2 years and am SO THANKFUL. Hope I can find more to stockpile when the time comes. Excellent product, excellent quality.

This soap is a gem!
I did some looking around, read the reviews and decided to order some of this soap late last fall. I've used it now for 2 months straight. My review is going to be based upon the top 3 criteria for me: healthy happy skin, fragrance and price.I have really been giving this soap a good workout during our midwest winter. I live about an hour west of Chicago and our winters can be pretty fierce. During the dead of winter (pretty much now), it can feel uncomfortable to be in your own skin. The furnace runs so often that the humidity in the house becomes very low in spite of the central humidifier. Even using really good moisturizer doesn’t completely solve the problem as I would still get that stretched tight dry almost painful feeling on my back, where it is tough to reach with the moisturizer. Not this year. It hasn’t happened at all this winter for the first time ever, and if it were going to it would have done so by now. My skin is in better shape than it has ever been, especially in the winter. No stretched tight dry painful feeling at all. My nails have also had a slight healthy sheen to them, and haven’t cracked or peeled at all as they sometimes do in the driest part of winter. And I am using less moisturizer, depending upon the season. All in all, the difference is very noticeable and remarkable. And the only new product in my regimen is the soap. I really like olive oil soaps in general and have been using them for years, but I’ve never found one that works this well. And I think that would have to be because the Papoutsanis soap is 78% olive oil as opposed to the leading contender Pre de Provence at 72%. I know that because I emailed the company to ask.If fragrance is the most important thing to you, you may or may not like this soap, because it really does smell different. I wasn’t sure at first, so I decided to give it a week to decide. That week sort of shifted my opinion. The soap has a green growing earthy fragrance that as a gardener I really appreciate and have come to like. And I think there is also an aromatherapy soothing peaceful something going on that I also like. The other criterion is price. This soap beats the other top two contenders I’ve tried hands down. They are Olivia Care and Pre de Provence. (I have also tried several other olive oil soaps, but none of them were up to much.) They both have delightful fragrances, and a great amount of olive oil and/or shea, but they are both fairly pricey. And they just can’t do the job on my combination skin in my midwest winter that the Papoutsanis soap can.So depending upon where you live, what kind of skin you have and how you feel about the price and fragrance, you may or may not like this soap. But for me, it is the far and away best olive oil soap I have ever tried.4/6/18 update on the smell controversy: I gave a bar from the case I'd been using to a friend for Christmas, and he told me later that he had to get rid of it after 2 days because he couldn't stand the smell. At first he thought it was cigarette smoke, then realized it was the soap. Then he decided it smelled like "wet burned wood." Even though I read the reviews, I was still pretty surprised as the soap doesn't smell that way at all to me. But then, my friend likes cooked cabbage, and I think it smells like something that deserves a decent burial asap. So I conclude that the way our brains process the sense of smell, the way they are "wired" are just very different. And whether or not you like this soap will probably depend upon which way you are wired.
