Holds AND charges my XS Max with a Pelican case no problem. I did mount the two smaller metal plates on the outside of my case just to make sure I get the maximum magnetic hold as the XS Max is a bigger, heavier phone. I have not experienced any charging issues nor do I anticipate any. The one thing I did notice is that with the larger phone mounted it does shake a little bit while driving. I attribute this to driving a lifted F250 diesel which aren’t known for their road manners. However, it has not caused my phone to fall off even on roads under construction. I would recommend this Qi charger/mount without hesitation.

I was so pissed of by this product so it went straight to garbage after a week of suffer and I don't even need my money back.1) It has twice less magnets inside than regular version without wireless charging. Even after replacing metal pads with bigger and thicker (bought separately for extra cost) the phone is not holding properly and flies away every time I make sharp turns.2) It has to be aligned with the phone so precisely that moving it just 1 mm will stop charging at all. At least with iPhone XS, not sure if other phones are the same. I have wireless pad at home and wherever I put my phone there gives stable charge. I can move phone anywhere on the pad and it keeps charging no problem.3) Cigarette charging adapter the manufacturer provides has 1.0A output with will not charge iPhone XS at all if you have Google Maps open and use it for navigation. To have it charged you need to buy a 2.4A cigarette charging adapter from 3rd party and pay extra money.VERDICT: DO NOT BUY! Waste of money and way too expensive for such poor engineered device. Doesn't work as expected.

I have an iPhone XS. The mount works well and the metal plate install was easy using the provided template. It would charge through a thin case and hold - but alignment was tricky to make sure the phone didn’t fall. I switched to a bumper case with just the magnets on the back and when the phone was charging it got warm and the glue came off the magnetic mount and the phone fell.Once the phone gets warm from charging the glue on the magnetic mount plates losens up and the mounts move or fall off.I wouldn’t recommend using this except through a thin case that can provide additional support to the plates. I wish I could find a case that was magnetic and Qi compatible.

If you are planning on using the low profile dash mounter to mount the new Qi charger take into account that the ball mounted holder is not curved like in the Magic Mount Pro but straight, which reduces the angles in which you can set the charging plate and the viewing angles.

At least for me with my iPhone 8 plus with the Apple Leather case (these cases are not thick at all) it attaches and charges but slowly slides down the face of the plate while driving and phone just slips and falls off after 10 minutes or so. I know they redesigned their Qi mount probably due the same reason and they should have just made it bigger with 4 magnets at the top and bottom like their other mounts and have been done and solved it once and for all. Mount would probably work with a non-plus iPhone but not for these big ones. I am really disappointed too since I was eager to purchase this new model to see if it would work. Scosche makes great products but they need to go back to the drawing board on this Qi charger yet again I am afraid. I did call their Technical Support line and the rep suggested I put the metal plates on the outside of my leather case. I don't think so. That would defeat the purpose of the nice leather case and pretty much ruin it if it needed to be removed. ARRGGHHH. I made the huge mistake of throwing the box away too before thoroughly testing so it's mine now. I may try to relegate it to desk use or try applying some double-sided tape to face to make it more tacky. The other issue is that now with the split-plate design (small plate at top and bottom) to expose the Qi charging coil the phone won't really mount to my old Scosche magnetic mounts. I wish someone would standardize so that case manufacturers could integrate the metal plates in their cases.

When the charger is correctly positioned the top plate would cover the fingerprint reader, making this pretty useless. I've contacted Scosche, but so far no response. Disappointing.

Very nice , but the magnetism isn't enough strong to hold my s20 ultra I'm really disappointed, my phone slipped down even my van stopped

Unfortunately we have not got on with this product at all as we have not been able to get our phones to stay on to the holder for more than a few seconds. We have tried all the magnets with no luck. It is jnust not man enough for Iphone 11.To prove how genuine this feedback is we have loved the earlier products from Scosche that we have used for past 15 years or so.

Purchased the air vent clip phone holder - Quite possibly the worst thing I've ever purchased. I mean, i figured "ok i'm dropping quite a bit of money on these they must be decent" but no. Slips, slides, doesn't stay put. Returned within a few hours and replaced with a $10 gadget which gives me no issues.

This is an awful awful product and the company Is terrible . I bought it from amazon and it wouldn’t work so I called the company . They told me it just needed new magnets to go under my case and said they would send them out. They told me I Received a used package from amazon and did not tell me to contact them just said they would replace the magnets but it would take 8 weeks. 8 weeks later I got the magnets and still didn’t work. Called them and they told me that my case was prob to thick!!! Why didn’t they mention this when I called the first time ! Also isn’t even mentioned in the instructions ! They told me they can’t return and can’t exchange because I’m in Canada and told me to contact amazon. My return window is closed with amazon because it took 8 weeks to receive the magnets which they told me would solve the problem! Now I’m stuck with a crappy product that doesn’t work . I did not recommend this product or company at all!!!! Terrible product and service !
