The desktop germ guardian is fairly compact, sleek and easy to move room to room if needed. On high setting (#3) you definitely know it’s there but it does move a good amount of air, Settings two and one are pretty quiet I think and you can still feel the airflow. At first use with the UV light on you’ll smell a slight ozone smell but goes away after a few hours. I originally bought the germ guardian tower air purifier with UV light and was incredibly happy with it I’ve since bought this desktop air purifier and also a plug in automatic UV odor eliminator from germ guardian and am very happy with all products! We have forced air heating in our home and live where it’s winter near 6 months of the year and even tho I keep up on quality air filters for our forced air unit it’s simply just not enough with a family of 4 with 1 cat. I run this desktop air purifier throughout the day periodically with the UV light on then at night time in my child’s room on low setting with the UV light off and in the morning the air in there room smells and feels clean and fresh, we also use it in our teenagers room who has a gaming pc he’s on for hours at a time, with how teenage boys rooms smell this little desktop air purifier takes care of all the boy odor and has cut down on dust dramatically. Every unit I’ve purchased from germ guardian has been phenomenal so far, ready to use out of the box just follow instructions provided, make sure filter is installed correctly, plug into wall and you’re good to go! 11/10 recommend!

I have owned this filter since 2016 and highly recommend it. Having mutiple severe allergies, I require a good grade true HEPA. We have all the top name $$ house-Hepas at home. But I have traveled extensively for almost a decade using this filter. I have dropped it, dented it and it still works great, especially in hotel rooms. Hard to find a good replacement for its small "fits in carry-on" size. I have bought lots of various brands of replacement true-Hepa filters for it, all of which are inexpensive and work great. I can't find a newer one that is better for travel.

This thing is a blessing.. I have become very very sensitive to smells . Candles and all the air fresheners gives me a headache sadly. But this thing took smells out of my home after about 15 minutes. Now walking into my home it's smells like I have aired my house out for hours . It feels fresh and smells clean . I'm loving this thing I will be buy another one as soon as I can . Just buy it you will love it . I'm not being paid to say this 🤣. Side note: I have 3 cats 1 farret i also have 5 dogs and a teenager and it works like a charm.

After owning this purifier for one day, its effect is very noticeable. Live in a 2BD/2BA apartment. The second bedroom is where we keep the cat's litter box. This purifier has reduced the smell of cat litter to the level that it goes unnoticed by me. We use lightweight litter and that seems to be dustier that your run-of-the-mill litter and that dust gets everywhere in that room. Also, I have not used the UV-C feature up to this point. I've still only owned this for one day, but was so happy with its immediate results that I thought I'd review. Any changes will be noted. As they say: "No news is good news."Be aware, some may say that it runs a little loud. Personally, if I were to move it into my bedroom and had it on the lowest setting, it wouldn't be too loud for me but I can see how it may be for others. If noise is an issue for you, find a different purifier.UPDATE #1: 12Jan2015I have used the UV-C function and notice very little difference in its current environment. I run this purifier 24/7. Stand by my 5-stars so far.UPDATE #2: 31May2015I've knocked the dust out of the filter a couple times since my last update and have kept it running nonstop since I initially review the product. Still awesome.UPDATE #3: 05July2015I knocked out the HEPA filter yesterday and it was pretty packed with dust and the like. I take this as a good sign that it is still operating well. The recommended time to replace the filter is near upon me so I ordered another one that should be here tomorrow but I won't replace it yet because I don't think that it is necessary after the clean out. I decided to get one so I would have it on hand when I do decide to replace. Still 5 stars.No more updates will follow unless it explodes.UPDATE #4: 16March2016So I lied; an update and yet the purifier did NOT explode yet. I changed the filter at about the one year mark after several cleanings to the initial filter. Some months ago I dramatically decreased the time that the purifier is running in a given day because it just doesn't seem necessary any longer. Recently (and I mean within the past few days) the purifier's three different fan levels have sort of leveled out. I mean to say that the LOW setting is an awful lot like the MEDIUM setting and not much different from HIGH either. I've had this happen to my automobile fan in the past. In this case, I think that some resistor(s) stopped working (well, anyways) so the fan is receiving near the same electrical current no matter the setting. The UV bulb has gone out but that might be normal for the amount of use it has seen. Strongly recommend this company. When this baby goes out, I'll be going with GermGuardian again.Update #5: 27Sep2016No significant change. I don't run it nearly as often as I did previously (cat litter box went into a closet of its own to limit dust). The fan operates on one speed regardless of the speed selected. I'm toying with the idea of getting a higher-end model soon. We'll see.
