I'm not a pet groomer, but I keep these tools on hand when any of the neighborhood cats stop by with matted fur. They do a great job at cutting through thick mats with ease. I really like the rounded tips which lets me run the scissors close to the skin without running the risk of injuring the cats. I also like that they're adult sized and well-made so they fit nicely in my man hands.

This is a great grooming set and easy to use. The only thing I would change is to include a number 5 blade, which is what the groomer my dog has been going to is used to. I use the three which is slightly shorter but still works. If you're new to grooming as I am, best to watch grooming online via Youtube for your breed of dog and then to be realistic accepting your efforts will not be perfect the first several times you use this. My new motto is "thank goodness hair grows"!

They start out nice and sharp but dull quickly and also need tightening frequently even mid use. I have a Golden Doodle that’s 3/4 poo with very dense kinky hair so she may herself be the culprit.100% product related, these are apparently made for either use on the very ends of the fingertips OR made for very very tiny fingers. I’m an average sized woman with normal to smallish hands and these get stuck on my fingertips not even near the first joints. Maybe I just need to learn how to use them properly, I don’t know. They’re a nice set for around $15. I don’t have complaints, just stating the facts.Like Neil Peart says, “cheap and worth it.”

This set works so well! So I have a small dog, poodle and fox terrier mix. Her hair is a mix of curly and straight and always gets so long. I used to struggle using cheaper scissors when trying to give her a trim and now it's a breeze to cut her hair. Makes haircuts faster which is great because she hates them. They have the guards on the end but are still sharp to cut through her hair( I know some with the guards don't but these do!)

I wouldn't have believed these scissors could hold up and be as good as they are. I have 4 large dogs that I groom myself. Standard Poodles and doodles. These are great, they have held the sharpness and durability and I've been very impressed with this set. Go for it; this is a great buy.
