So, this unit is pretty great. We have had moisture / humidity issues in our house, and have experience with using the large air scrubbers with hepa and uv-c filtration. Now we have dry lok'd (waterproofing paint) the entire basement, and run dehumidifiers all the time in the basement. Helps. Short of going that route upstairs where it is cleaner and drier, this unit is fantastic for a medium sized area. Large master bedroom, living room, etc.Moves a lot of air for it's size. Bulbs last a long time and are cheap and easy to replace, filters are affordable. Immediate difference in air quality, and better sleep.Vacuum the front of the filter (the "pre-filter") when you vacuum the room it runs in, and the unit will operate most efficiently. Filters may last longer too, not tested theory.Recently we tried to save $ and bought another brand, thinking it'd have to be similar.No man. Not close. We have two of these, and plan on getting another, and so far out of many years or trying various units (Oreck, other big honking round units, electrostatic air cleaners in our hvac etc), this one works the best for us.So short of a big industrial air scrubber, this unit actually DOES SOMETHING. It IS an air scrubber, just moves less air than a commercial unit, but enough for a medium sized area. Also looks sharp, and modern, and because it's black, kinda disappears when set in the corner of the room. Love it.

I have had this for 5 years. It sounds like a fan , not loud . I am looking for another because I liked it so much. Tower is tall and narrow. It doesn't take up a lot of space.

I like this air purifier, but when the red light flashes to replace the filter - I replace the filter and the red light keeps flashing. I've replaced the filter twice and the light keeps flashing. I think the purifier helps due to the high amt of fluff that is on the filters when I replace them. I just wish I could get the red light to stop flashing when I put a new filter in.

I purchased two units in 2020 for the bedrooms for allergies and they definitely helped. But with the fires in Canada and the smoke reaching the NYC area the machine come into their own. HEPA filters are tested based on their ability to remove smoke particles as well as allergens. So you have the piece of equipment.So we pulled it out of the closet and shut the bedroom door and the filtration system did its thing. We slept good the scratchy throat, stinging eyes and cough went away we kept the door closed. My wife works from home so the second unit takes care of that room.Keep in mind it’s the same type of system people that remove asbestos wear on their face a HEPA filtration system used to protect their lungs.1. As a reminder your outdoor clothes contains the smoke particles so avoid wearing into your bedroom or children’s room.2. Damp mop your floors vacuuming only pushes the particles.3. Shower once you’re in the house if not going back out or shower before bed. Get those particles off your body so you and others will not breath in.4. If you have central a/c you may want to consider changing your filter when things clear up.

This Germ Guardian True HEPA Filter Air Purifier is an upgrade to the more expensive but less reliable oval shaped Germ Guardian that has been available for several years.While I was having to buy warranties and replacing both of the two original Germ Guardians, I have yet to have to replace this upgrade edition. In fact, it's been so reliable, I bought another one to use in my living room. It cleaned up all the dust that had settled because my older Germ Guardian (the more expensive and unreliable one) had fizzled out.I had purchased the replacement lights and filters to use whenever the older model called for replacing those particular parts. The consistently rotten thing with the older version is that the machine would NEVER recognize replacement of the light or hepa filter, and therefore wouldn't operate. Then the insurance/warranty I purchased was rejected. Bummer!The upgraded model has been zero problem in any way. I bought the HEPA filter that goes with it, but I haven't purchased the smaller light. I am waiting to see how long the Germ Guardian lasts before requiring replacement of parts.Although I like polishing wood furniture, I hate dusting and vacuuming. This Germ Guardian keeps the air clean, fresh, and healthy, and attends to the dusting for us. I have a Germ Guardian in the living room (which includes an open dining room), and in each of the bedrooms. We only vacuum to collect the dirt that gets tracked in.This particular model of Germ Guardian is well worth the $100.00 for each of them. Try it. I believe you will like it.

We live in California and with all the recent fires, this was an essential purchase to help clean the air in our home. My husband was recently in the hospital for blood clots in his lungs so good air quality was essential to his recovery. While he was in the hospital, most of California was on fire. It was so bad that there were days I would drive to the hospital and the sky was orange or gray. Them smell of smoke was very strong and we had poor/unhealthy air quality. I knew I needed an air purifier at home to help improve the air quality and began to shop around.Germ Guardian was familiar because I had seen it in my chiropractor's office and also my dentist office once they were able to reopen after the COVID shut down. I knew that if they trusted it, so could I. I bought as soon as I knew my husband was going to be released from the hospital. It did a fabulous job improving the air quality in the house. It not only got the smell of smoke out, but I feel safer knowing it's getting any germs too. I bought it for my husband but we are all benefiting from how much cleaner the air is.
