Surprised me big time!

I got this for my bike so I could carry on rack. I can’t believe the quality of this pole and reel, it casts perfectly and the reel is really smooth ! Highly recommend this item, even carry bag is nice!

Good Quality / Excellent Reel

Good quality / excellent reel function / rod make storage convenient however, sections can collapse during use if not fully and tightly extended

Excellent product and purchase, highly recommend.

I bought these for my motorcycle, so me and my son could throw them in the saddle bag a go fishing. They are the best investment I have made. They are better than some of my nicer fishing poles. They are high quality, durable and portable. Everything I wanted. I highly recommend these. Would definitely buy again.

Best telescoping rod/reel combo for the price

I can’t say enough good things about these rods/reel combos!! I do a TON of back country camping…these rod/reel combos have been a lifesaver! The are so compact and light weight! I’ve tried others that have snapped like twigs on monster bass and northern…Not these!! I bought 1 a few years back, it was the only one that survived, so I bought 2 more, then another 2…and now I’ve started buying them for my kids! They love them!! They carry easily in/on a backpack or strapped on to a bike! these have allowed us to get to some very deep woods, back lakes, without all the hassle, and all the confidence that they will hold up to massive fish! 40” Northern Pike, absolute hog bass, hard hitting musky…and have bagged plenty of 25”+ walleye on the big water! Trolling on the boat has never been an issue either! They really do live up to the job! Good quality rods and will always recommend em. (Got 2 in a fishing hiking/‘go bag’…have 3 on the boat for backups or ride alongs who don’t have a rod!).If you have a kid who loves to fish, but they gotta ride a bike there…this is a must! Get em a decent backpack and one or two of these (got two for one of my boys and rigged it for panfish, and the other for crank baits/spinners…he slays em!) they can ride easily without having to worry about trees, shrubs, people and other bikers!

Quality Control is "iffy", but it works

I like that this telescoping rod/reel is easy to use, fits nicely in the car for "emergency fishing" opportunities, casts well, and has a smooth drag/retrieval.I loaded it with 30 lb braided line (roughly like 10 lb mono for capacity) and it came in handy yesterday when I had one of those emergencies. I need to restock my small tackle box tho, to make sure the lures are heavy enough to throw the line "out there" with the way I have it set up.What I don't like, and reduced a 4 star review to a 3 star, is the quality control on assembly. The rod has 6 guides, with the 5th and 6th guides from the tip being mounted on one section. The 5th guide from the tip was slightly off-set from the 6th, making it impossible to line up ALL the guides for a friction-free cast. It wasn't offset much, but it was noticeable when the rod is extended. It still caught fish, so I guess it's "okay" in a pinch or for testing out a lake you happen upon.

Broke and completely disassembled itself after a few uses

Had really high hopes for this telescopic rod and reel combo. It looks great, it feels great, and the price is great. Plus it has a folding handle which is great for me since I travel and fish alot. So it must be too good to be true. And it was.I bought this rod for the purpose of being my "panfish" rod. Something that I could put a slip bobber, a jig head and a nightcrawler on to fish for panfish or to scout an area. It's pretty light duty feeling, so I had no intention of catching big fish with it. In my opinion, it should handle up to a 3 to 5 pound fish at best. But boy was I wrong.I spool all my spinning rods with 25# braid and then do a 10# fluorocarbon leader that's 3 feet long or so. And this setup is no different. However, it had a lot of trouble casting. Even with a heavy sinker and big jig head, I couldn't get it to go very far in comparison to other rods. I was only going to knock a star off for that, but I could still use it to catch fish. Did I mention that it's pretty and that the bronze accents were right up my alley?ANYWAY, I was fishing on a river in Maryland during one of my road trips and I was just reeling it in when a Snakehead tried to eat my bobber. The force of the fish hitting the bobber snapped the rod instantaneously. I couldn't believe it, it's not like I was fighting the fish and it broke. It just snapped directly on impact. Granted, Snakeheads do hit pretty darn hard. It wasn't that big of a fish. I ended up catching that same Snakehead on a crankbait a few moments later with another rod. It was about 3 or 4 pounds of a fish. So it really shouldn't be too heavy for the rod. Regardless, not impressed. So I salvaged the reel and put it on another spinning rod. I went off to fish on my own lake back home and halfway through the day, the reel competely disassembled itself and the handle flew into the lake on a cast and the rest of the bits got scattered. Basically it was unsalvagable at this point. It's very disappointing because I was hoping to at least get a few more uses out of it.TL;DR - This reel and rod combo is good looking and affordable but it's very light duty, meant for panfish mostly. Even then, the rod is fragile and snapped. The reel isn't put together very well and doesn't cast far. It also might just fall apart on you any moment. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND.
