One would need laboratory equipment to accurately verify the db rating. That said, they are "good" ear protection.I use them when operating loud power equipment and at the gun range. No complaints: they are decent; comfortable.NOTE: If you are an adult and have an "average size" head you NEED the "Extra Large" size.I don't understand the posts about them breaking easily. It would appear to me they are as well made/designed as all others in this general price range for a Consumer retail product. With common sense treatment, they should last a long time. They are made of Plastic.... not stainless steel! If you need a more durable unit, you should be shopping for Mil Spec or SWAT quality items!

Great! I needed some way of blocking sound when working in my home office. This blocks the sound of TV in adjoining room and outside noises such as lawns being mowed. I can concentrate!

I purchased these for hearing protection while target shooting and must admit they are better then I expected.Easy to adjust, snug fit, comfortable and well constructed. Should they be lost or misplaced I would most definitely buy again.

The noise reduction seems to work well, however it will not fit larger heads. It also applies a great deal of pressure, so it will start to hurt after an hour or two. It might fit better on smaller people, but it didn't work for me.

You won't find better noise reduction for a cheaper price. I bought 2 pairs for an indoor motor-sporting event involving very large, very loud trucks. The noise reduction was almost too much, even with loud music and an announcer blaring over the trucks. Overperformance is not a bad thing when it comes to noise reduction, though.I don't think the plastic pieces that connect the wire to the ear cup are sturdy enough for vigorous or daily use, but I didn't put them through much of a stress test. For uses that involve regularly putting the muffs on and off, you may want something more durable. For average home-owner tasks like lawn mowing and power tool use, these are great.My only complaint is that one of the items was not the correct color, but that could have easily been resolved with an exchange if I had enough time before the event.

Blocks a huge amount of noise. Needed strong ear protection for working on a jet way. These combined with high db ear plugs is very effective. Comfortable enough and size fits my head well. Fairly cheap for a reliable pair of headphones.

Comfortable and has a noticeable difference compared to others I have. Happy with the purchase.

These will squeeze your brains out! They don't adjust very well, nor very much. If you have a "large" head, these aren't for you. They do block out noise nicely, but I wonder if that's because they are effective or because I was focusing on the pain they caused. I am currently trying to stretch them out; I put a box between them a little wider than my head. Hopefully they will adjust. But if you don't have the clean shaven head of a small child...OUCH!
