WOOOHOOO! Actually fits into a 19" rack case without modification.
Miracles will never cease!!! This is the fourth or fifth 'rack mountable' power strip that I've purchased in the last couple of years and its the only one that fits in a 19" rack case without some form of modification to the rack ears. Normally they're maybe 5/6mm too long and need to be sawn down a little to fit. I'm glad to see that the manufactures (from the design and materials I'm guessing they all originate on the same production line) have managed to find a tape measure!

John Wayne's six gun
Perhaps I should have taken note of the previous reviews and considered buying a more expensive product that I knew would fit my rack 100%. However, considering this item was such a good price and being as eager as I was to get this rack mount power supply I ordered it and payed extra for next day delivery as I have a show to play tonight and needed this item asap. And what a surprise, Amazon cocked up yet again and I awoke to an email stating that I would be receiving my item the following Monday. After a couple hours of chasing around tracking my order and speaking to multiple Amazon service representatives my door bell rang. To my surprise the item had arrived! I tore open the box with my rack unit waiting and screws ready to install this unit only to find that the rack ears were in fact too long for my rack! When I say too long, I do not mean 10mm each ear too long, I mean 2mm each ear too long! Upon scouring the house for my tool box I realised that I had left it at work and my sound check was 3 hours away! Being located no where near a decent hardware store, my only option was to use the next best thing. My flat mates nail file! And so it began, the first thing to come off was the extremely tough what seemed like anti vandal/ knife/ scratch/ bullet proof paint layer on either side of the rack ears. The filing was a long and tedious process which lasted around an hour and a half and resulted in my carpet being burnt instantaneously upon impact from the tremendous amount of heat that was contained within the sweat droplets that dripped off my forehead. By this point, the rack ears were so hot that my fingers began to mold themselves and I have permanently branded my fingers from the screw holes in which I gripped to keep the unit still below my knee and between the chair I was using as a vice. Not to mention the green and blue seat linen that has now turned completely silver from excess metal dust and shavings from the rack ears. The nail file however, which I must add is still (SOMEHOW) in tact upon completion of the filing process does not appear to have one little mark nor scratch on it! My hands however tell a different story. The blood that now soaks the nail file, rack ears and plug sockets make a nice finish and give it the appearancrancet John Wayne has used this product as his own six gun (and not to shoot with) or beaten his noble and now bloodied steed within an inch of his life with. Overall, this product is now successfully mounted in my rack ready for the show and has now given me the re-assurance that it is sturdy as s***!

Seems to be good power strip
Fits great in my standard 19in rack, hopefully will protect the more sensitive components from power surges.

A decent quality Powerstrip for price - Size may not fit some audio racks
A really decent, robust feeling powerstrip for the money. Can't speak to the surge protection or longevity as of unit yet. Some have said this powerstrip is wider than standard rack unit spaces.I can confirm It is a tad wider than most pieces of 19" pro audio hardware. To clarify; the actual bolt holes should still line up with any 19" rack rails, but the unit itself is definitely a few mm wider than say a rack compressor. For me personally this is not an issue as my rack cabinet has no 'lip' or maximum width restraints, but I can see that if you had an 'enclosed' flight case or recessed studio cabinet you may struggle to squeeze it in.For clarification I believe the issue is probably because the powerstrip is meant for use with a server rack rather than audio gear racks and server racks (tend) to be more open (like my type of studio rack), so a few mm of extra width or overhang is no issue. So i would say this is recommended for:4 post Server racks or those with flush front/back.Audio rack cabinets WITHOUT enclosing trims/lips etc.Floorstanding/desktop 2 post rack stands should also be fine.Probably avoid if you want to use in a fight case / ABS / gig bag type rack or a studio rack cabinet with enclosed lip / edge, like many of the wooden ones.

Well designed and sturdy power block
I bought this power-block to provide surge-protected outlets on a home server rack. It is nicely made and very solid having an outer metal casing. In fact I was so impressed I purchased three. I consider it good value and an excellent choice.
