Having bought a quality tap from Franke it’s not worth cutting corners and buying a “me too” product. The filter works exceptionally well.

I was going to give it 4 stars because of the price but when I compare the performance to the Doulton filter I tried it is far superior. I moved from a very hard water area to a slightly less hard water area, but still hard enough to scale a kettle.Before moving we used a filter jug to fill the kettle otherwise it would be useless in just weeks but our new house had a filter tap so we tried filling from that. Over the first few weeks the scale that we had in the kettle started to break off and clear so the filter that was already in was obviously working well, but the label on the filter housing said it was replaced 18 months previously. I thought if I renew the filter it would be even better but went for the much cheaper Doulton filters.With the Doulton filters the kettle started to scale up again and after two months I decided to try a genuine Franke filter again, and sure enough the scale slowly started to clear when I did.I could probably improve the performance of the cheaper ones by reducing the flow rate but it's not exactly gushing after passing through these filters and I'm not sure I have the patience to wait any longer for the kettle to fill.

If you have the stainless steel Franke water filter then this is the replacement cartridge and Amazon seems to be the most reasonably priced. The cartridge does the job and your water should be better for it. Quite easy to fit provided the filter is in a reasonable position.

The genuine article, with very prompt service. Don’t be tempted by the cheaper generic ones, they are rubbish.

It is important to me that I buy the real cartridge and although it is expensive I think it is excellent. I buy it regularly for a flat I moved into over six years ago so I have had many of them and intend to continue to do so.

Fine, easy to fit, works well, don't bother with bottled water now,

I have used either generic or the original water filter cartidges for seven years now. I was pleased to be able to buy this one at a much reduced price compared to buying it from the manufacturer, who always remind me when I need to renew my cartridge. I stopped buying from them because of the price, and felt they were having a bit of a laugh with their price until I found these on Amazon, and am very happy with the produce.
