This is a great lamp!
Good lamp, adjustable light and great timer! I turn it on and set the timer so I dont forget to turn it off. Comes with its own clicker which I keep handy in my desk drawer. This has a very small profile so it looks neat and tidy. Gives me really good light no matter the time of day. Would absolutely buy another one.

Measure the height of your monitors first
I really like this lamp but I didn’t take into consideration the height of the light once mounted on my standing desk and the height of my 32” monitors that are mounted on raised arms. I ended up using it on my other desk over my iMac desktop. I like the remote and all the light settings.

Read the package contents description before hollering at your wife.
At first I was very unhappy, BUT, that was my fault for not reading the description of the parts when it arrived, the same day I ordered it. In the box, was the base, the lamp head, the plug, the remote, and the two pieces that go between the base and the lamp head. Both of those pieces, looked to me, to be solid metal pieces. I WAS WRONG. The top piece, though it looks to be a solid metal piece, is in fact, bendable and shapeable. Once I figured that out, I put the lamp together (very simple and easy assembly), clamped it to my desk, plugged it in, and turned it on. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THIS LAMP. You will have to supply your own AAA batteries (2) for the remote. With this lamp I have several levels of brightness as well as several levels of color ( from about 3000K [warm light] to about 6000K [daylight] ). I personally like the whiter light (6000K). It also has a timer (1 hr., 2 hr. and 4 hr.), so if you forget to turn it off, it will shut itself off. My total cost for this lamp ,with coupon and Prime, was under $40.00. I am verry happy with this purchase.

Doesn't remember its last state, remote should be redesigned to use RF
The light itself is great overall, but some bad design flaws prevent me from giving it the rating that it otherwise deserves — specifically, remote crosstalk problems and lack of state recall. For context, I bought this light to light up the music rack on a Viscount Cantorum Trio Plus three-manual electronic organ. It is installed on a board sticking out from the back side of the desk, so that it goes straight up, out, and over the front of the music rack on top of the organ console. This means that the base of the unit is entirely obstructed by the organ console itself. (This is an important detail.)When I started to use the remote, I found two problems. The first problem is that the IR basically didn't work unless I put my hand way out and pointed at the bottom of the light from behind the organ, because the manufacturer incorrectly put the IR receiver down in the base of the light, rather than up at the top, near where the actual lights are. I'm sure that made the design easier, but it made the remote control very nearly useless for my purposes.Adding insult to injury, I also found that when I changed the color of the lights, my generic IR-based RGB light strip controllers changed colors as well. I've already had problems with those controllers sharing codes with LG (or maybe Samsung) Blu-Ray players, so there's clearly way too much overlap for any IR-based remote control system to work well when manufacturers pick their own codes out of the air without concern for other companies, as appears to be the case with most of these LED lighting products. I have no idea if Blu-Ray remote controls will trick this light, but the odds are pretty good that they will.As a workaround, I'm buying a new RF controller for the strip lights on the underside of the organ desk, but that's an extra ten bucks that I'm spending just for the purposes of making a remote control for the light work slightly less terribly. The other flaw that contributes to a lower-than-expected rating is a lack of any sort of state memory. Most lights that use a remote control are designed to have a small amount of memory to store their last state. That way, if you turn off the power externally and later turn it back on, the light turns back on if it was on, or stays off if it was off. This device, unfortunately, does not do that. When power is reapplied, it remains dark. This makes it a poor choice for a lot of uses, and a less-than-ideal choice even for my use (but not quite bad enough for me to gut the thing and replace the light controller with something better). So basically, if you don't need to turn the light on from an external light switch and either A. don't have any other IR-operated devices in the room or B. don't care at all about the remote control, this is a great light. If you need a proper stateful light or if the remote control is important for you — particularly if you're going to mount it on the back side of a desk where the stuff on the desk will block the IR from reaching the base — choose a different product. All in all, I'd rate the light part a 4/5 (because of the lack of statefulness, and the remote part a 0/5, but the remote is less important, so I'm averaging my rating out to 3/5.This would be 1000x better if they had spent the extra few cents to use an RF controller, because A. every RF-based controller I've ever seen retains its state, and B. those RF controllers are typically paired individually with specific devices so that crosstalk problems don't exist. Such a shame. I hope they will consider changing out that board in future models. It wouldn't add more than a few cents to the cost of the product, and the result would be much, *much* better.
