Fantastic Option for Very High Speed Cable Internet
This is a fantastic high-speed modem. I used it for my upgrade to 2gbps with Comcast. It's silent, doesn't get very hot, and boots up fast. I haven't run into many connectivity issues.Every once in a while it'll need a restart if I push 2gbps+ for an extended period of time, but I haven't been able to attribute it to this device, vs. something else. It's such a rare occurrence that it hasn't bothered me.

Works great with XFinity Internet
It works preety seamlessly with XFinity Internet. While it's rated for up to 2 Gbps, XFinity only rates it for up to 1.2 Gbps on their service (though that may just be them trying to get you to rent their garbage hardware). It has a 2.5 GbE port (which is backwards compatible with a standard 1 GbE Ethernet port on the other end) as well as 2 separate regular 1GbE port that can be turned on for LAGG (requires a device on the other end that understands and is configured for LAGG also) so you can do dual channel if you don't have a 2.5GbE port on the device at the other end (or a 10GbE port and Cat 8 Ethernet cable if you have hardcore network setup). You do have to manually enable the LAGG ports in the settings, otherwise they act like regular individual ports (multiple ports on a modem cannot have multiple client devices connected).Speed on a 1GbE connection is excellent without any overheating or hiccups. It runs extremely stable too, it hasn't had to be reset at all in the > 1 month I've been using it.

Easy to set up, works as described.
I purchased this Netgear modem to avoid renting Xfinity equipment. After the modem arrived quickly, I connected this device to the internet via coaxial cable (not included) and called Xfinity to activate my internet. After a few mins, I was able to get direct online by connecting the modem to my computer via ethernet. Lastly, I purchased (separately) a WiFi mesh network that I connected to the modem to get wireless internet.

High quality modem
After the initial install internet speeds were erratic and the modem required a factory reset. Perhaps the firmware from factory was bad or it failed to update on first boot. However, after the factory reset and updating firmware, the modem has functioned perfectly since, stable with consistent speeds.

Netgear's tech support is the worst.
My recent experience with this Netgear CM2500 has been terrible. I bought this model to replace my CM600, which had no problem for 6 years, but I upgraded my ISP's plan to 1000 MBPS, which CM600 does not support. The product I received is defective and the internet speed will drop from 900+ MBPS to 1-3 MBPS for no obvious reason. Once it drops, I unplug and replug the power cord, the problem goes away. I have been communicating with Netgear customer support for the past 2 months and could not get a replacement. There were several technicians asking me to do the unplug and replug power cycle. I told them the problem will go away immediately, but will come back the next day. Then they keep me checking different settings. After they could not fix the problem. Netgear switch to a different technician and start over again. Now, they say it is Xfinity's problem again. I had Xfinity come and already checked. I had no issue for the past 12 years for the same ISP with no issue. I am sick after 20+ hours with Netgear tech support for the same problem. For my experience, if the Netgear product is non-defective, it works for many years. If the product is defective, Netgear's support is like hell.

Cable modem instructions for Comcast Xfinity has issues
At first, the cable modem download and upload speeds were the speed of my previous cable modem due to the instructions on how to register the cable modem with Comcast Xfinity. I was expecting 2 Gb/s download and 300 Mb/s upload speeds. The download was much less than 2 Gb/s and the upload was 40 Mb/s. Using the Comcast Xfinity app did not remove the old cable modem from my account. I called Comcast Xfinity and they removed the old cable modem from my account. Then, I got faster download speeds and around 300 Mb/s upload.

Solid modem
I haven't done any 'stress testing' with this. My connection is a mere 1gb upload (soon to be higher, though!)However, it works as intended and stays very cool, unlike past modems I've used. Easy to setup.
