I like this winder but mine has a flaw in the bearing cover.
I had an old peg winder that wasn't very good quality so when I saw this one I decided to order it. For the most part I think this is a really nice tool. This winder fits very well on all the pegs I've tried it on so far and I really like rubberized grip on the handle. The pin puller is handy and easy to use. The bearing in the end of the handle makes the winder very smooth but unfortunately that's the area where the flaw is in my winder.I'm not sure but I assume the internal hex screw and clear plastic end plate are what retain the bearing. The plastic plate has a split in it which appears to be "normal" judging by other reviewers pictures. However, on mine almost directly opposite of that there is a crack through the plastic from the screw to the outer edge and where it reaches the edge the plastic is already chipped away. I don't know if it's just a defective part or if it was damaged during assembly but I know it was like when I first unboxed it.

Good grip and turning movement, fits a variety of keys and spacing
Younger players probably take them for granted but when I first encountered string winders decades ago I laughed at them and can recall looking down my nose at a friend who bought one.Years later these aging hands have endured enough finger and hand cramps from twisting tuning keys – not to mention blood-drawing punctures from unwound string ends - that I now keep multiple string winders close by in rooms I most often play in.One complication is I play a variety of electric and acoustic guitars, as well as bass, mandolin, and banjo and, if you’re not aware, the size and spacing of the tuners can vary quite a lot. Some winders accommodate different sizes and spacing better than others and I’ve yet to find one that fits comfortably and maneuvers well around all of them. This winder comes close: Two of the jaw slots are “stepped” meaning the jaw will lower onto the tuner until its key thickness fits snugly. The other two jaws are flat rectangles with small narrow notches at the bottom, suitable for large bass tuners.I really like the rubberized feel of the handle and the grip texture. It’s more of less broomstick diameter and fits well in large hands. The jaws spin smoothly and quietly with no noticable slop in the joint that can cause slipping and jamming when turning quickly.I included images of several instrument headstocks to give a sense of the winder’s size. The bridge pin puller is exposed by a spring-loaded slider. I was skeptical when I felt the soft jaws but I was surprised at how easy they are to position and how much actual grip they apply. For many years I mistakenly believed the tighter the string was lodged into the pin slot, and the tighter the pin was jammed into the hole meant it less likely the pin would slip, and the better the tone. Now I understand the structural and tone advantages of having the string sit mostly in the bridge slot with the ball end snug against the bridge plate without digging into it. The bridge pin should act almost like a bench dog, with a wedging action that holds securely yet is actually fairly easy to release and pull up.

Very Nice
This is an excellent guitar tool for retsringing, and it makes that task an absolute breeze! I have tried a few different brands/types and this is one of the better ones I've found. It fits my pegs well, and it makes restringing very quick. I would definitely recommend having one of these on hand for when you need it.

Easy to use winder
I'm really pleased with the ease of use and quality of this winder. The grip on the handle is nice and sturdy with rubber, and the pin puller aspect helped make things so much easier. The winding action is smooth and helped make things so much easier throughout the process. I definitely recommend this to anyone who's in the market!

Best String Winder Ever
This string winder is the best string winder I've ever used. It is not a cheap tool like a lot of other string winders. The winder actually has a bearing in it and it is incredibly smooth. The bridge pin puller works great as well and I was able to pull the bridge pins on my acoustic guitar with no issues. The winder fit perfectly over my guitar's tuning pegs and made winding the new strings on the pegs very easy.
