Good solid drive

I've 3 of these in my NAS and they are good solid drives. Slightly noisier than other drives I have, but this is not an issue for me.

Good value for high capacity NAS systems

Seen a few complaints on noise level in these reviews. These drives are 'Pro' enterprise devices (>10Tb) and as such they DO make more operating noise than smaller consumer grade devices. It doesn't mean they're faulty or going to fail sometime soon. All drives in this class, from whatever manufacturer, are going to be loud(er) for this reason. I have 4 in a 4-bay NAS about 3ft from my ears and whilst I can hear them the noise level is not objectionable. However, if you are a content creator with a microphone nearby then you may well need to relocate your NAS somewhere further away because the drive noise will be picked up. All that said the drives are fast and operate as they should. Delivery was fast (3 days) and prices cheaper than a UK supplier. What's not to like?Edit: 'What's not to like' is that one out of the 4 drives has failed today after just 5 months of low usage in my backup NAS (only used to store backup data from the main NAS). Unrecoverable read errors.Edit2: Even more to dislike, a second drive has failed at 310 days. 50% failures (2 of 4) within a year is unacceptable. I won't be buying any more Seagates.

Very pleased but pity about the warranty.

Just purchased a second 14TB Ironwolf Pro from Maestro Tech. Both arrived quickly from the US in perfect working order. They're both happily spinning in my NAS now. Ironwolf Health Management tells me that both drives are healthy. When I first installed the latest one I could see that it had 10+ 'power-on hours' already. I'm not overly bothered by that but it would be interesting to know if that means the drive is 'used'.I've registered both drives with Seagate. I didn't get the full 5 years warranty. The warranty expires in mid-2025. The drives were manufactured in 2020 so I guess that's to be expected.

Noisy drives but warranty is a bit of a lottery

Bought two of these to upgrade capacity of my NAS. Very good value (I bought 2x14TB) coming in cheaper than 10 and 12TB options and in £ per TB seemed best option in this range including bigger sizes.Moving from WD Red, these are much noisier - I'd say almost double the volume, bear in mind if in a room where you sleep of watch TV, but tbh the WD Reds were above the noise level I'd want in each of these places as well, it's just disconcerting hearing much louder sounds at first. One warning though, I bought two from one seller, both sealed and brand new, one with approx 9 months warranty and the other with none at all. In a NAS environment that's used frequently, I figure if anything is wrong it's likely to go wrong in a few months, but I'm not willing to risk it with no warranty at all. I bought one from a different seller which came with approx 14 months warranty, so I just returned the one with none. It's very easy to check on Seagate's site.Happy so far, will update if anything goes wrong in next few months, but these are specced to deal with way more intense usage than I will put them through so they should last many years.

These appear to be "New Old Stock"

Bought 4 of these 14TB IronWolf Pro drives to replace the 6TB IronWolf drives in my NAS. When I opened them I found all 4 have a manufactured date of 20 May 2021, and when the serial numbers are checked they only have a warranty until May 2025, so just over 1 year. The 6TB drives have just over 7 years 'Power On Hours' so I'm not too concerned about the lack of warranty time, but I feel the product description should have mentioned the fact they were "New Old Stock"

WARNING: TOP-IT seller has reset the smart values on these drives

SMART values on these drives have been reset. See Picture, I ran seagate farm check values which cannot be reset and you can see that the drive actually has over 20000 power on hours.Be warned!

Big and loud

Cant complain for the price, but man this thing is loud. Clearly designed for a datacenter application or similar. When mounted into an average pc case, it can certainly make some noise !

Warranty not as advertised

Drive (14TB) supplied was already one year since manufacture, and was only eligible for a 15 month warranty when registered on the Seagate website, rather than the 5 years warranty mentioned in the product listing. This contrasts with an identical Seagate 14TB drive I bought earlier in the year from another supplier that had a full five years warranty, and was actually cheaper than this supplier. I've been using Seagate drives on my NAS for the last 12 years, and always found them reliable, so hopefully the lack of warranty is not going to be a problem.
